Unfinished project

Glee Wolf of McCook would like to complete this hand-made solid oak memorial plaque before it is moved from First Christian Church to the Museum of the High Plains in downtown McCook. The plaque lists members of the church who have served their country. Mrs Wolf said she will add the names and ranks of 13 more soldiers, but she is missing the ranks of four of them -- Elton Harrison, Stewart Harrison, Tyron Fries and Burdette Crocker. Each of the four served in World War II. Anyone with information on the four servicemen is encouraged to call Mrs. Wolf, (308) 345-5319. Wolf said the church has closed its doors -- sadly, after 109 years -- because of diminishing membership and the expenses involved in operating and maintaining a large church building.
