Beautify the burger

Gavin Harsh, a second grader in the McCook Schools, prepares a hamburger at the "Beautify the B" kickoff party at Wagner Ford Mercury on Thursday. The celebration included food, games and the inflation of the Kugler hot-air balloon. The event was sponsored by the McCook Area Chamber of Commerce. Chamber members passed out special punch cards to encourage shoppers to continue doing business in downtown McCook. For each $5 purchase from a participating merchant, customers will receive a punch. After the card is full (10 punches) the card can be dropped off at the Chamber of Commerce, 107 Norris Avenue, to be entered in a drawing for $2,003 in Chamber Cash.
