Area schools, McCook may study possible reorganization

An exclusive contract with Coke and a feasibility study agreement are on the agenda for a meeting of the McCook school board at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The meeting is set for the Junior High Conference Room.

According to information included with the District 17 board meeting minutes, an exclusive contract for Coke products at the school was originally approved in December 1998.

The McCook School District has been asked to participate in an agreement to conduct a feasibility study for reorganization for school districts in Southwest Nebraska.

Included in the board's information is a contract for an agreement between Hitchcock County Unified School system, Hayes Center School District, Wauneta-Palisade School District, Chase County High School System, Dundy County School District, and Key Concepts, represented by consultant Gerald Ehlers of Ainsworth.

Other business includes:

- gifts from the Southwest Nebraska ARC, McCook Football League and Bison Boosters.

- Consideration of a request from the city of McCook to use the cafeteria while the Senior Center is being renovated.

- Finalization of the reduction in force actions.

- Reconsideration of the option enrollment capacity policy.
