Educator of the Year

Mary Dueland accepts a plaque from Duane Tappe, after she was named "McCook Area Educator of the Year," for 2002-2003. The purpose of the award is to encourage and recognize outstanding performance in the field of education, with special emphasis on motivating students to reach their highest potential. Dueland has taught McCook elementary classes for 25 years. The award is funded by Allen D. Strunk, the former publisher of the McCook Daily Gazette, and facilitated by the McCook Chamber of Commerce.
