OBERLIN -- Della L. Klima, 73, died Wednesday (May 14, 2003) at the Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.
She was born Dec. 3, 1929, at Riley, Kan., to Delbert and Florence (Ayres) Phalen. She was raised in Riley and Cuba, Kan. and graduated from Cuba High School.
On June 26, 1947, she married Melvin Klima in Belleville, Kan. They resided in Cuba until moving to Oberlin in 1971. She was a homemaker and worked part-time at the Oberlin Herald newspaper.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and a volunteer for election polls and bloodmobiles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Lois Phalen.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin of Oberlin; two sons, Rick Klima and wife, Deb and Brian Klima and wife, Lori all of Oberlin; daughter, Marsha and husband, Gene Morford of Oberlin; one brother, Russell Phalen and wife, Irene of Osborne, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home with the Rev. Heidi Wiebe officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation is Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given in her name.
