CAMBRIDGE -- Darlene E. Premer, 78, died Saturday (May 17, 2003) at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge.
She was born Jan. 25, 1925, in Red Willow County near Bartley on the family farm. She attended school in Bartley and graduated from Bartley High School. She attended beauty school and became a licensed beauty operator. She operated her own beauty salon in Bartley until 1969. She closed her salon and moved to McCook. She was employed at First National Bank, now Wells Fargo Bank, of McCook. She retired from the bank in 1993 after 24 years.
She was a member of the Bartley Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Elbert Premer, Noel Premer and Harvey Premer and one sister, Marie Moore.
Survivors include a sister, Ilene Ruf; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Premer and Vesta Premer of Bartley and Doris Premer of Lakewood, Colo; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, 10 a.m., at the Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Interment will be in the Bartley Cemetery at Bartley.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Bartley Christian Church or the Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook.
