LINCOLN -- Mildred J. "Millie" (Rice) Yamamoto, 73, died Thursday (June 12, 2003) in Lincoln.

She was born Oct. 24, 1929, in Randolph to Leander and Esther (Johnson) Rice. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1947, and from the University of Nebraska in 1951.

She was married to the Rev. Jack Yamamoto who served Episcopal Churches in Hyannis, Mullen, Eclipse, Broken Bow, McCook, DeWitt and Fairbury. She was a retired senior claims examiner for Woodmen Accident and Life Company.

She was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Norden Club, UNL Alumni Association, UNL Foundation and the Town Club Alums.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, the Rev. Jack Yamamoto.

Survivors include four daughters, Catherine "Cay" Yamamoto and Susan and husband, Richard Lewis of Lincoln, Deborah Yamamoto of Greeley, Colo., and Dr. Mary and husband, Dr. Jeff Fidler of Rochester, Minn.

Funeral services will be Monday, 11 a.m., at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Lincoln. Burial will be at the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church or Capitol Humane Society both of Lincoln.
