OBERLIN -- Dean L. Gallatin, 72, died Tuesday (June 24, 2003) at the Cedar Living Center in Oberlin.
He was born May 27, 1931, in Norton County, Kan., to William and Mildred (Hayes) Gallatin. He grew up in the Clayton, Kan., area and attended school in Clayton.
He was married to Zeta Salome Rhodes. She preceded him in death.
On Sept. 13, 1990, he married Rachel Sass Vardemire. He lived on a farm near Clayton and moved to Oberlin in 1990.
He was a member of the Jennings United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Zeta Salome Gallatin; and three brothers, Ray, Lloyd and Keith.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel of Oberlin; and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at the Clayton Cemetery at Clayton with the Rev. Nolan Pierce officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be given in his name.
