Ira Lee Howard, 22, of Hayes Center, died Saturday (July 26, 2003) near Hayes Center.
He was born Aug. 24, 1980, to Jimmie E. and Marylin Rae (Richards) Howard at North Platte. He graduated from Hayes Center High School in 1999 where he played football and was a member of FFA. He attended voch-ag diesel tech school of the Mid-Plains Community College Area in North Platte.
He worked on the family farm helping with all aspects of farming, including mechanics, welding and truck driving. Ira also enjoyed being an owner and operator of a farm, as well as being part of a trucking and hay business with his family. He was a horseman, a hunter and a fisherman. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Johnnie E. Howard and Mary Ann Richards.
Survivors include his parents Jimmie and Marylin Howard of Hayes Center; a brother, James S. Howard and wife Kelli and niece, C. J. Howard of Hayes Center; grandparents LaVeta May Howard of Palisade and Laryl Richards of Hayes Center; special friend, Deb Ridlen of Imperial; and countless relatives and friends.
Visitation will be today until 8 p.m. The casket will be closed at the service.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m. at the Hayes Center High School Gym with Pastor Russ Armstrong and Pastor Morris Hartman officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery at Wauneta.
Memorials may be given in his name.
