CURTIS -- Margaret P. Stewart, 94, died Monday (July 28, 2003) at Sunset Haven Nursing Home in Curtis.
She was born Dec. 7, 1908, to Lester C. and Cora M. (Gilson) Kitchen on a farm east of Farnam. She graduated from Overton High School in 1926 and went to Kearney State College for two years.
On April 19, 1947, she married George R. Stewart in Curtis. She started working at the Curtis State Bank in 1929, where she worked for 45 years, retiring in 1974. She resided at Hillside Estates in Curtis for the past two years.
She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star in Curtis and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George in 1997.
Survivors include her sister, Helen Grannis of Curtis. Services are Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Curtis with the Rev. Rick Sykes officiating. Interment is in the Curtis Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at Blase-Wetzel Funeral Home in Curtis.
Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church Choir or the Hillside Estates Medical Alert Fund of Curtis.
