Adam Hook, 97, died Wednesday (July 30, 2003) at McCook Community Hospital in McCook.
He was born April 5, 1906, to Jacob and Catherine (Eckhart) Huck in Huck, Russia. In 1907, the Huck family moved to the United States and resided in Lincoln, before moving to Culbertson in 1924, where he began to farm.
On Nov. 16, 1924, he married Sarah Fahrenbruch in Culbertson and the couple farmed north of Culbertson until moving into town in 1963. He retired from farming in 1970.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah in July 1995; one granddaughter, Linda Sue Houghtelling; one brother, Jacob Huck; and one sister, Margaret Hergert.
Survivors include one daughter, Helen Walker of Walker, La.; one son, Jacob "Jack" Hook and wife, Evelyn of Indianola; two brothers, George Huck and wife, Minnie of Lincoln and Nohn Huck of Culbertson; three sisters, Rose Spahn and Marie Hergert, both of Lincoln and Elizabeth Krenig of Fort Morgan, Colo.; and five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
Services are Monday, 10:30 a.m., at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson with the Rev. Dan. Spearow officiating. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in his name and friends may call the Herrmann Funeral Chapel in Culbertson.
