OBERLIN -- Lenore Carlisle, 76, died Monday (Aug. 25, 2003) at Via Christi-Saint Joseph Hospital in Wichita, Kan.

She was born July 27, 1927, to Leonard and Anna Fern (Messuer) Hochmeister in rural Danbury. She was raised in Danbury and graduated from Danbury High School.

On Sept. 18, 1955, she married Dale Carlisle at the Danbury Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker and a housekeeper for several ladies in the Traer, Kan., area. She lived in Traer for 44 years before moving to Oberlin.

She was a member of the Oberlin Assembly of God Church and the Oberlin Music Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Nellie Fisher Hochmeister; and infant brother, Chauncy Hochmeister.

Survivors include her husband, Dale Carlisle of Oberlin; one son, Roger Carlisle and wife, Jane of Oberlin; two daughters, Cheryl Thull and husband, Randy of Victoria, Kan., and Donna Urban and husband, Tim of Olathe, Kan.; and six grandchildren.

Services are Thursday, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Royce Leitner officiating. Interment is in the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m., and Wednesday from 8 a.m., to service time.

Memorials may be given in their name.
