Gutchewsky, Uerling unite in early spring ceremony

HERNDON -- Sara Christine Gutchewsky of Herndon and Joel Mark Uerling of McCook were united in marriage March 1, 2003, at St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church in Herndon with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating.

Parents of the couple are Jack and Mary Gutchewsky of Herndon and Mark and Sherri Uerling of McCook. Grandparents of the couple are the late Marion and Freda Nokes, the late Joseph and Bernie Gutchewsky, Robert and Clara Uerling of McCook and the late Bill and Myrna Clifford.

The bride wore a white satin dress in a beaded one-shoulder fashion. The skirt was A-line and ended in a cathedral-length train. She carried a bouquet of pink calla lilies and cream-colored roses.

The maid of honor was Danette Seller. The bridesmaids were Tammy Gutchewsky of Oberlin, sister of the bride, Nikki Feldt of Kearney and Therese Cook of Levant, Kan. They each wore a two-piece, floor-length, dusty lavender colored gown. Lori Peters was the bride's personal attendant.

The best man was Jim Ruggles of McCook. The bridegroomsmen were Dustin Uerling of McCook, brother of the bridegroom, Brian Uerling of McCook, brother of the bridegroom, Brian Gutchewsky of Lawrence, Kan., brother of the bride and Jeff Brooks was the honorary bridegroomsman.

The junior bridesmaid was Mattie Uerling, sister of the bridegroom and the junior bridegroomsman was Sam Clifford. Ushers for the ceremony were Andrew Uerling, brother of the bridegroom, Jon Harris of Kearney and Brandon Doyle of McCook.

The organist was Theresa Rippe of Ludell, Kan., and the soloist was Marianne LaRue of Oberlin.

Eucharist ministers were Mark Akers of Omaha, uncle of the bridegroom and Joe Koetter of McCook. Altar servers were Luke Clifford and Tyler Clifford of Hayes Center, both cousins of the bridegroom.

Bubble attendants were Kasey Clifford and Morgan Uerling, both cousins of the bridegroom. The guestbook attendant was Krista Simonson and the program attendant was Sybil Quigley. The gift attendants were Tiffany Quador and Brittany Zeller, both cousins of the bride.

The reception was at the Red Willow County Community Building in McCook. Host couples were Mark and Deb Clifford, uncle and aunt of the bridegroom and Bill and Sara Seller. Cake servers were Lesa Clifford, Jane Clifford, Nancy McGrath, all aunts of the bridegroom, and Phyllis Zeller and Shirley Axtell, aunts of the bride.

The couple honeymooned on a cruise to Belize, Central America and Key West, Fla.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Decatur Community High school and a 2002 graduate of Colby Community College with an associates degree in nursing. She is employed at Community Hospital in McCook as a registered nurse. The bridegroom is a 1998 graduate of Republican Valley High School and a 2000 graduate of Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte with a degree in diesel mechanics. He is employed with Messinger Farms.

The couple is making their home in McCook.
