Laura Ebmeier and Garrett Nokes, both of McCook, were united in marriage May 17, 2003, at Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating.
Parents of the couple are Darold and Mary Ann Ebmeier of Maywood, Ray and Pam Nokes and Stephen and Brenda Morell, all of McCook.
Grandparents of the couple are Calvin Lemmon of Crawford, Helen Farrar of Maywood, Melvin and Nada Nokes of McCook and Bill and Marlene Bolen of Sharon Springs, Kan. Other honored guests include Rex and Avis Morell of McCook, Mike and Joan Long of Chandler, Okla., and Lester Malleck of Indianola. The matron of honor was Sonya Gugleman of Gothenburg. Bridesmaids were Dawn Smith of Kansas City, Mo., Elaine Smith of Maywood and Nikki Cappel of McCook. The bride's personal attendants were Missy Keith of North Platte and Sandi Bolen of Sharon Springs, Kan., cousin of the bridegroom.
The best man was Jamie Wildeman of Lenora, Kan. The bridegroomsmen were Justen Nokes of McCook, brother of the bridegroom, Justin Thompson of North Platte and John Oetting of McCook.
The flower girl was Caiden Lemmon of Crawford, cousin of the bride, and the ring bearer was Cade Cappel.
Candlelighters for the ceremony were Cailey and Cali Lemmon of Crawford, both cousins of the bride.
Ushers were Calvin Ebmeier of Maywood, brother of the bride, Ben Ebmeier of North Platte, brother of the bride, Kyle Wilcox of Lincoln and Ryan Vrbas of McCook.
The organist was Marie Coffey of McCook and the soloists were Karen Lemmon of Crawford, aunt of the bride, and Wendy Hageman of McCook.
The reception was at the Knights of Columbus Hall in McCook. The host couple was Don and Wendy Hageman of McCook. Guest book attendants were Elizabeth and Katherine Morrel and Brooke Hager, sisters of the bridegroom.
The reception assistants were Betty Ebmeier, Francis Ebmeier, Jean Lemmon, Glennis Nokes, Lori Bolen and Cathy Warner, all aunts of the bridegroom.
The bride received her bachelors degree in elementary education/special education from Doane College in Crete and her masters degree from University of Nebraska at Kearney. She is the elementary behavior teacher in McCook. The bridegroom received his bachelor degree from Panhandle State in Goodwell, Okla. He is a PRCA cowboy and sells insurance for Conseco.
The couple is making their home in McCook.
