Darcie Purvis and Lucas Weiss, both of Kearney, announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. Parents of the couple are Don and Sherry Purvis and Richard and Loretta Weiss, all of Kearney. Grandparents of the couple are Harold and Delores Richards of Hayes Center, the late Cecil and Lois Purvis, the late Duke and Vern Weiss and the late Norbert and Beatrice Schumer. The bride-to-be is a 2000 graduate of Kearney High School. She is a law clerk for Business and Professional Credit Management in Kearney. The prospective bridegroom is a 1999 graduate of Kearney High School. He is employed at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. The couple is planning an Aug. 9, 2003, ceremony at Countryside Christian Church in Kearney.
