Couple unite in Curtis church

CURTIS -- Margaret Ann Orman and Brent Thomas Sankey were united in marriage June 7, 2003, at St. John Lutheran Church in Curtis with the Rev. Paul Warneke officiating.

Parents of the couple are Paul and Delores Orman of Maywood and Kenneth and Lorinda Sankey of Collinsville, Ill.

Grandparents of the couple are Floyd and Lillian Orman of North Platte and Arlen and Phyllis Schomacker of Cheney, Kan. The bride wore a gown with an off-shoulder, sweetheart neckline adorned with bands of pearls and crystal beads. It had an empire waistline and a sweeping chapel-length train. She also wore an elbow-length veil that fell from a pearl and crystal beaded tiara. She carried a bouquet of pink and white mini calla lilies and roses. The bridegroom wore a black, single-breasted, suit-cut tuxedo, black vest and euro-tie. He wore a boutonniere of a single, white calla lily.

The matron of honor was Angela Hansen of Nome, Alaska, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Amanda Henschen and Lauren Sankey, both of Collinsville, Ill., sisters of the bridegroom. They each wore a periwinkle, floor-length gown with an empire waist and scarves draped at their elbows. They also carried calla lilies tied with silk ribbon in their arms. The bride's personal attendant was Kristen Barz of San Antonio, Texas.

The best man was Thad Sankey of Collinsville, brother of the bridegroom. Bridegroomsmen were Joel Rempfer of Blairstown, Iowa, and Alex Lemke of Seward. They each wore a black tuxedo with a silver vest and tie.

The ring bearer was Noah Schomacker of Cheney, Kan., cousin of the bridegroom.

Ushers for the ceremony were Chris Olmstead, uncle of the bridegroom, and Jakob Schomacker, cousin of the bridegroom, both of Cheney, and Matthew Dummann of Germantown, Wis., cousin of the bridegroom. Greeters for the ceremony were Josh and Amy Brewster of St. Paul, Minn., cousins of the bride. Organist for the ceremony was Patricia Lemmermann of Herculaneum, Mo. Leslie Drees of Waverly and Rachel Sattgast of Huron, S.D., were instrumentalist for the ceremony. Acolytes for the ceremonoy were Rachel Schomacker and Amelie Blomberg of Cheney, cousins of the bridegroom.

The reception was at the Maywood Community Hall. Host couples were Dale and Sandra Orman and Hank and Jean Dummann, aunts and uncles of the couple.

The couple honeymooned in Estes Park, Colo.

The couple are both studying at Concordia University with plans to graduate in May 2004, each with a bachelor of science degree in education.
