Old Glory Days

Maywood celebrates "Old Glory Days" with a parade, a picnic and a polka band. Hundreds of people took advantage of the sunshine and nice weather Saturday, and organizers were thrilled with the turn-out at all events. Lynne Wilson said, "We had a great day. We had a good, good crowd at the evening event, better than in past years." Wilson said Maywood's 1970's class reunion kept people coming into town all during the day. The Manchester Twins Polka Band (above) -- with Keith on the drums and Kenny on the accordion -- played from a float in the parade, and Trev Clemmens (below, right) dumped his parade candy into his dump truck. The North Platte Shriners "Puddle Jumpers" thrilled the little ones along the parade route.
