A McCook woman was killed when she was thrown from her sport utility vehicle in an accident northeast of McCook on Sunday evening.

The woman, Traci Slater, 38, was the driver of the vehicle, which slid into the ditch, rolled onto the passenger side, ejected the driver and rolled onto its top, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.

The vehicle was traveling west on County Road 388, 3.1 miles north of Highway 6-34, at about 6:25 p.m., according to the report.

None of the occupants wore seatbelts, except for one of three passengers who was in a child restraint system. Alcohol was suspected to be a factor in the accident, according to the patrol. The other occupants received only scrapes and bruises.
