College considers logos

Tuesday, August 26, 2003

The final step in returning the individual identity to the two colleges in the Mid Plains Community College Area will be looked at by the Board of Governors during its regular meeting Wednesday, 6:30 p.m., in the Technical Campus conference room in North Platte.

Bozell and Jacobs LLC, a marketing and advertising firm from Omaha has worked with faculty, staff, students and the public to develop a series of logos to reflect both college and location.

The study began in March. Upon completion, a subcommittee appointed by the board approved the proposed logo.

If the board accepts the logo, the college will begin using the new logo immediately.

Other actions on the agenda include:

Budget information and recommendation

An articulation agreement with Bellevue University

Development of a unified signage program throughout MPCCA

Hire of a career center coordinator, English instructor and system administrator

Restructure of the career services department and a search for a career specialist
