Colby Ellis refers to her notes in thanking the Southwest Nebraska Habitat for Humanity board and numerous volunteers Tuesday evening during the official dedication of her new Habitat home at 805 West K Street. "I've learned so much," she said, and, referring to the sweat equity she contributed to the project, added "I'm stronger now, too." Ellis is surrounded by her children (from left) Monica, Amanda, JoAnn and Jimmy. The family plans to move in next week. The house was constructed over 12 working weekends with some 185 volunteers and 2,100 volunteer hours and is the first Habitat House built in Southwest Nebraska. The Rev. John Strecker-Baseler of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and Habitat board member invoked the official blessing on the house saying "This house, through the favor of God, and the work of human labor, has been made a home."
