Vap family makes Hospice donation

Thursday, September 4, 2003

Community Hospital Health Foundation recently received a much-appreciated $1,000 donation for the Hospice program from the Vap family in memory of Irene Vap, who was a McCook resident.

The donation helped to purchase two bedside commodes and a wheelchair, with the balance of the purchase to go to the thermal tinted window replacement project in the Hospice suite.

The Vap family includes four brothers, John T. Vap, Gordan Vap, M.D., Jerry Vap, McCook, and Doug Vap, McCook.  "We appreciate the care our mother received when she was in the Hospice program," Jerry Vap said.

"We thank the Vap family for this wonderful donation for our Hospice needs. Families appreciate the opportunity to  borrow equipment and use it for their loved ones while they are in Hospice," Sharleen Crowe, Foundation Director said.

"It meets a great need in providing consistent, loving care for their loved ones."
