Ingredients needed for ice cream social

With McCook's annual Heritage Days celebration just around the corner its time to start thinking about the traditional homemade ice cream social in Norris Park, Saturday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In order to make the event a success, the McCook Chamber of Commerce is asking for a donation of several items, including:

20 dozen eggs

10 4-pound bags of sugar

34 4-ounce bottles of REAL vanillla

8 24-ounce bottles of chocolate syrup

4 24-ounce bottles of strawberry syrup

6 boxes of frozen strawberries

4 jars of creamy peanut butter

1 1-ounce bottle of mint extract

1 1-ounce bottle of green food color

6 packages of MINI chocolate chips

1 4-ounce bottle of cinnamon

1 4-ounce jar of FolgersŪ Instant Coffee

4 cans Cream of Coconut (found in liquor aisle)

4 cans of crushed pineapple

6 bags of ice cream rock salt
