Officials from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality, Lincoln, praise Red Willow County, Resource Conservation and Development and Educational Service Unit No. 15 for their efforts to protect the state's environment. DEQ officials toured the county's new household waste collection facility on South Street in McCook, and DEQ Director Mike Linder (right) presented County Commissioner Earl McNutt and HWC co-coordinator Jacqueline Hughes with a sign for the building. Linder and Steve Danahy (above, left) also praised a high school science lab chemical collection coordinated by the RC&D, represented by Tom Spunaugle of Imperial (second from left), and ESU, represented by Dan Van Dyke.
