Regardless of the current economic downturn, the city of Mccook continues growing.

Several large projects have been completed this year, including the addition to Curley Olneys, the expansion of Willow Ridge, the development of the Household Hazardous Waste Facility, the new super distribution center at Valmont, the remodeling project at the Stinnette building and a large remodeling project at First Central Bank.

Projects yet to be completed include the addition and remodeling of McMillen Hall and the Hormel Business and Technology Center, the expansion of the McCook Clinic and and the Kiplinger Equestrian Arena at the Red Willow County Fairgrounds. Work continues on the renovation project of the municipal pool.

Construction on the new additon to the McCook Clinic is running about one month ahead of schedule.

The city has recorded $8,695,277 in construction this year. It has collected a total of $22,515 in building permit fees.

The trusses are being placed at the new Kiplinger Equestrian Arena.
