McCook 14 Rebels fastpitch team finishes third at Kearney Klassic

KEARNEY -- The McCook Rebels 14 and Under girls fastpitch softball team took third place at the Kearney Klassic Tournament this past weekend.

In pool play Saturday, McCook defeated Kearney DMilico 6-1, North Platte Belles 16-0 and lost to the Norfolk Golden Girls 6-5.

In tournament play Sunday, the Rebels defeated the Kearney Chargers 12-0 and lost to the Lexington Storm 13-12.

In the third-place game, the Rebels defeated the North Platte Sensations 7-3.

The Rebels are back in action Thursday at North Platte with two games against the 14 and Under North Platte Belles.

The Rebels will travel to Lincoln this coming weekend to play in the Lincoln Classic Tournament.

The Classic is a Class A Tournament with teams from Omaha, Lincoln and Beatrice.

In pool play on Saturday, the 14 and Under Rebels will face Lakeview Blue Lightning, Ralston Rampage and Lincoln Blazer Force.

The Rebels' record stands at 11 wins, 4 losses and 1 tie.
