Arch in the Devil's Hole Hills
Around these parts, there are plenty of geographic references to death, the devil, and of course heat. Death Valley, the Funeral Mountains, Furnace Creek, and Stovepipe Wells are the first to come to mind. This short video was take in an area that is just 10 miles from our place in an area called Devil's Hole Hills.
This area was heavily prospected, but it appears not much of value was found. There are roads all over the hills going to prospects, but there are no mining ruins left, and no actual mines as far as we could tell. However, rock hounds love this area as there are numerous deposits of quartz, turquoise, and other minerals.
