  • Hi Brian,

I have a question, does Jesus defend the millions of people in China and India and elsewhere who have never heard of him?

Well Benevolus, what do you think since what I think really doesn't matter does it?

Since the Bible says the only way to Heaven is through Jesus, I believe that to be true. The same question could be posed about those that died before Jesus time couldn't it? With that in mind, the Bible does address these issues, and for those that have heard and disregard, it doesn't sound pretty.

If you really want answers, I'd suggest you add this web page to your reading list... http://www.biblequery.org/Doctrine/NeverHeardTheGospel/WhatIfTheyNeverHeardOfJes...

  • Brian,

If what you think doesn't matter I wouldn't have asked. I have never received a straight answer to this question though, and I have asked a lot of people. Typically the response I get is hostility or a shrug of the shoulders and an evasive quip like 'don't try to understand God'.

What I think is that if there is a creator, and if it purposefully damned millions (billions?) of people to torment, anguish, suffering, etc., for all eternity, then it doesn't sound like a benevolent creature at all. Or the other possibility is that the bible is wrong, and there are multiple ways into the heaven.

Thanks for response and the link. I was a little disappointed in the website though, I thought it sort of glossed over the issue.

    Brian,

I'm not trying to be too nit-picky here but you might want to change the title. I think you meant to type Counsel.

  • IMHO; re the issue of millions (billions?) of people who may not know of Jesus. Do you know of any populace who does not have a belief in a higher power, authority? I believe that God looks after all his creatures.
