Back In The Saddle

Billy & Margie
I'm Jeepless in Cambridge no more. Our new ride magically appeared in our driveway. I bought "Blackie" (our old TJ Wrangler) new in November 1996, and now 16 years later, "Billy" (perhaps the nickname of our JKU Wrangler if it sticks) has taken up residency. We certainly hope we get the same kind of durability as we got from our last Jeep.

Folks that have kept up on the City Slickers know that I pass on my positive dealings with some of our local businesses, and today is one of those days.

It all started with an email... I wrote several dealers about the possibility of getting a new Wrangler with some specific options. It had to have air conditioning, hard top, and have a manual transmission.. I got two responses, one from my local dealer, the other from the second closest dealer.

The second closest dealers response was we've got one that costs "x" dollars, but if that is too much for you, we can order whatever you want. Didn't really answer my question about if they could get one that I actually wanted without ordering.

Faw's Garage in Arapahoe was a different story. I got an email response that said they would try and get what I wanted, but Wranglers are popular, and a dealer transfer might be difficult. Well as it turned out, a dealer transfer wasn't going to happen for what I wanted, so I ordered what I wanted and just got it.

The first time I saw our new Jeep was when I noticed it parked in our driveway. I've bought a few cars over the years, but this was the first time one was delivered to my driveway. Now I suppose just dropping a new vehicle off with the paperwork and keys left on the seat in the city wouldn't happen often, but my test drive of our new Jeep was back to town to pay for it.

So today it's two thumbs up for Faw's Garage in Arapahoe. Got exactly what I wanted at a better price that I thought.

Oh yeah... Tomorrow is election day, and I've refrained from getting involved in any political discussions for a change. I will say that according to a recent article I read, over 80% of congress will be re-elected, even though we the people have given them a failing grade from their past performance. Makes me long for forced change through term limits. Anyway, I'm voting tomorrow, and I hope you will too.

Looks like it can change 'really big rocks' into mole-hills, with that clearance. Good looking ride.

Brian, looks like a very nice ride. Great to do business with folks who act like they really want your business.

p.s. voted absentee about a month ago; haven't seen anything yet that would have changed my mind.
