Truth Or Dare

Posted Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at 8:41 AM

According to one source, "David Barton is the Founder and President of WallBuilders, a national pro-family organization that presents America's forgotten history and heroes". Another source says "The Religious Right's leading practitioner of this type of historical revisionism."

OK, so which is it. I've done quite a bit of research on the presentation that Barton gives in the US Capitol, and I find his presentation to be generally accurate. Some conclusions are made pretty quickly by our host, and facts are slightly stretched in a couple cases.

I dug into it, now my dare to you is to prove it wrong. Check it out for yourself if you don't believe me, but no matter what, this video is worth watching.

Every time I've seen anyone check out David Barton's facts, they've been accurate. He doesn't revise history, but many prefer not to know the facts he presents. For far too many, ignorance of history is truly bliss.

Over the years many people in academia have distorted our nation's history. David Barton helps keep the truth alive.

I agree, David has yet for me to catch him in a lie, in his teachings. Admittedly, I do not check out every word he says. I do own his ten-DVD set of 'The American Heritage' series, which, in my opinion, should be mandatory History Teaching, in every school. I ordered mine at www.wallbuilders.com as well as my pocket Constitution.

If memory serves, there once was, and probably still is, on the Federal books, a law that says that 'to become a State, in the USA, the Bible need be required teaching, in the Public Schools' (or something to that effect).

One thing that impressed me, always, is that David quoted our leadership from the actual (non-copy) document, or book, when he cites the leader.

Thanks for this Blog, Brian. I hope this gets people to think about how we have been bamboozled about this Secular 'Separation of Church and State' misinformation.

@Navy The government isn't very good at taking laws off the books when they figure out that they are incorrect. A glance at any of the silly law posts all over the web would easily show that.

I agree, Damu. I once thought of running for office, pledging I would spend my entire energy to removing far more laws, than I associated with passing, but alas, every person I told that to only laughed, and said they wouldn't vote for me, since I wouldn't be doing anything constructive, like passing new laws. By the time I understood that bit of wisdom, the election was done, and I hadn't run.

Now, I'm too old, and far too fat, and they've changed the system to where I don't know where I'm at. Young folk to the rescue, I pray; but I fear, Nay.
