  • Excellent Brian - you get an attaboy for that one.

I notice that Arley has not posted since 1-3-10 and his is not shown on the blog authors now. Hope he is O.K., I rather enjoy his articles.

  • Hey, Brian, Geezer, and all, I guess I have been a bit on the down side, for a few, but feeling a bit better. It ain't not fun when 72, and trying to swallow around a football sized tonsil, but that's another day for a story.

I admit, I've seen that story about the cop, a time for three, Brian, but it hits a tender spot every time I read it. Of course, I wouldn't think of speeding, well, not any more. It was a young, unlicensed, uninsured fellow who put my chest and lungs through my steering column. It was my children that almost got to bury their father. He wasn't speeding, just decided he needed my lane more than I did, while he started to turn left in front of my 45 mph vehicle, about 75 feet away. Bump in the PM. That story always reminds me we all need be concerned about not taking someones child, or some child's parent away from them.

Thanks for the reminder. Let us Love our neighbor as we love ourselves, only don't un-love them to death, not for a few seconds saved. AMEN

Yeee-Haaa!!! and AMEN, I may be back in the saddle again.

  • It would be nice if more people would read this and think about their actions behind the wheel. Not just the idiots that ignore the 20mph in the school zones, but the idiots that are trying to drive with a cell phone in one hand, a cigarette in the other and trying to turn the corner. Or instead of the cig, and cup of coffee. Now that texting is so popular is not too uncommon to see "them" with heads bent trying to text, and trying to drive at the same time. I just hope and pray that it will not take a child getting hit by one of these idiots before they wake up to what they are doing.

Wake up people, put the **** cell phones down and pay attention to what you are doing, before a tragedy happens.

I would also be nice if our elected representatives in Lincoln would have the guts to pass a law against texting and cell phones while driving with some "teeth", not just a secondary offense. Put a $1000 fine with it and perhaps they would get their attention. But imagine that there are way too many contributions to election funds from cell phone companies to ever see that.
