Not being able to come up with a blog title today troubled me.
First I thought I'd write something about the "day that will live in infamy" and perhaps dig up an interesting Pearl Harbor story to share. I've never been in a war zone, and I can't imagine what it was like that Sunday morning on the usually sleepy islands. What a horrible experience.
Second I thought I'd write something about a former Dallas Cowboys quarterback that became much more famous as a TV announcer. "Dandy" Don Meredith was one of the original Monday Night Football announcers, and to this day I emulate his "turn out the lights, the party's over" during football games. Don passed away Monday. You can hear Don sing here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3xsDv6yCnY
Breaking news last night got my attention as my Denver Broncos made a major coaching change mid-season. If you keep up on pro football, you are aware of the heat the Denver coach has been under lately, but any time an NFL coach goes in the middle of the season it's big news. I can't say I'm surprised really, or disappointed either. I do hate to see someone lose their job this time of year, but that is another story...
I considered writing a blog about the demise of Duckwall's stores and how it effects small towns and my feelings about it, but you can read that one at http://cambridgeclarion.blogspot.com.
With all the sad and bad, what does that leave me with today? How's this?
