  • Good blog Brian. You are correct the other blogs are more about calling people names and not about the issues. Maybe they can learn from your blog that there is a better way.

  • Mr. Hoag, thank you for your blog, how refreshing to read one without all the name calling.

But sorry to say, it's probably coming.

  • Slicker,

It appears the voice of reason has pervailed.

It would appear the powers that be in McCook or somewhere decided the vitriol had to end.

When anyone attempted to present established facts on either of the "political" blogs, that blogger was immediately labeled a Communist or Facist, or a Communist Facist.

Your message today is what it should be.

We don't have to give up our rights to consider all sides, review the facts, and reach considered decisions - in order to have a political debate.

The irony is they same people who felt entitled to heap vitriolic disdain upon any political leader they don't support, go ballistic if the same tactic is applied to them.

Keep up the good work, there on the FARMSTEAD.

If the weeds won't surrender, consider buying some goats and sell goat milk and cheese.

You can do that on five acres, what with grazing tethered goats along the roadsides and keeping that growth down, particularly around the crossroads.

Benefit public safety and feed the goats.

Fair warning, once you settle down and start milking those critters, you better have a reserve milking crew from the Cambridge Senior Center, so you and the Boss can take a few days off to visit the high country.

    Thanks for the kind words.

Hank... No more critters for us... we got cats aplenty already to deal with, and I'm tired of gettin' 'em fixed.

  • *stands up and applauses* Your blog has been by far from the begining my favorite one to read. I'm glad you decided to keep writing.

  • I too have given up on the "other" blogs... but i always love to hear from you Brian! Your blog is refreshing and not filled with hate.

I am also glad to see Kevin's sports blog joining so i will have more to read...

Maybe once the comments on the other's decline they will start to realize that the Gazette online readers are tired of their hate filled spewing and name calling!

  • Slicker,

    See today's Gazette.

Make a deal to rent a trailer-load of that goat mob.

They should be able to clear five acres in a day or so. And think of all the free fertilizer spread.

Just what we need around here Hank... more fertilizer for the weed patch. You do recall this place was a outdoor hog operation for years right?

    hehe!

S&DC - I have it from an unnamed source that the political blogs will be back in due time.

I'm glad too. I think we need an honest debate on the issues. I for one am hoping I'll be back to reading Mike and Sam in the near future.

  • If the political blogs return if would be nice if there could be a civil debate about the political issues, without all the hate, name calling, and lies.

  • It wouldn't surprise me if the firt one blog is how the gazette is trying to censor free speech and that they should have moved the blog.

Course, reading some of them comments in other places of the site I could see the comments being disabled. I'd suggest trying to find volunteers to moderate, but with the bunch of people on the site, they would just say the mods were just trying to silence their side of the debate.
