Uhhh Houston... I think we have a problem!
"But officer, I read on the Internet this is the right way to haul wood on a car as long as it's securely tied down."

That has to be the lumber for the new garage, for the car, that the car will never be parked in, because the car will die, long before the idiot gets the lumber home, let alone gets the garage built.

If, by chance, however, the car does make it home, without self-destructing, its owner may make a million, selling the new commercial for the car manufacturer. Hmmmmm.

I'm betting on the lumber winning.

Back about 1973, Mort Rathbone of Tecumseh, retired farmer and farmer/dealer for Hulting Hybrids/Ferry Morse Seed Co was required to turn in his company provided 3/4 ton pickup for a new money saving NOVA.

Mort promptly delivered a ton of seed corn with the absolutely NEW Nova, then drove the wreck back to the Hunting Headquarters at Geneseo, Ill and got his old pickup back.

Hauling one ton of seed corn about 75 miles on Eastern Nebraska's dirt roads -- sortof demolished that shiny new NOVA
