Healthcare and a return to the blogs...

Posted Thursday, March 25, 2010, at 6:26 PM

So I took a break...

I didn't really mean to take a break as I just got so busy that I had to cut back on some of the things I was doing on a regular basis. The blog and writing movie reviews was one of the first things to go and I'll get back to the blog first with some movie reviews mixed in (or at least blurbs about what I'm watching or excited for).

I titled this blog with Healthcare as it seems like that is all anybody is talking about these days and seemed like it would grab some people's attention. Did it? I'd be interested to know in the comments just how many people clicked over to this JUST BECAUSE it said Healthcare. I've been reading a great deal about the latest stuff to come out and even got my eyes on the full text but neglected to read it all. (It's huge! and remember, I'm busy!) Anyway, I did some fact checking online and if you don't know how to do that, you should really learn or EVERY issue that comes up will never be your opinion but someone else shoving their opinion down your throat without you ever even realizing it. Back to the point, I have been following the whole Healthcare debate and even more so now that it is passed and I can't say that I agree with everything but I don't necessarily disagree with Healthcare reform which puts me in a hard spot to debate with people on this subject as I don't have a solid position for or against and I think that is the hardest part of this entire thing. Most people (I would think) are similar to what I'm thinking in that I would love to see healthcare reform that benefits me but doesn't take away the quality of healthcare I already pay for and receive or make me pay for something I don't need/want or pay for someone else to get care. Not that I'm against helping my fellow man, but I've got enough to pay for. Once again, I support healthcare reform and I think they have put together a pretty decent way of doing it, but I also believe that some pieces in it are a bit too much, so my official position is against and for it at the same time. Yes, I know I can't have both, but I'm taking it anyways.

Other than Healthcare, I've been really busy with a full studio makeover at Divine Productions. If you are unfamiliar with what we do down at Divine, check out our website at http://www.divinefilms.com. As part of the makeover, we are making plans to remodel the studio space again with emphasis on the different phases of photography through a child's life. I just ordered a ton of new backgrounds that will fit many different types of photography from newborn to seniors to couples and will greatly benefit the customers. We are also implementing lots of new programs including a referral program, frequent customers discounts and the return of our popular Quick Takes days. Our Quick Takes are once a month and are completely free sessions with most prints starting at only $12. Our next Quick Takes is on March 27th, and there is still time to book up a session if you are interested!

I'm going to be going to the movie 'How to Train your Dragon' this weekend and will report back next time on it. Looks very good from what I've been seeing and most reviews so far are very positive. I really want to see it in 3D but unfortunately Cinema 3 doesn't quite have 3D yet so I'll have to suffer through a regular showing of it. I know Fridley Theatres that owns Cinema 3 is interested in putting in a 3D screen and projector at our local movie house and maybe we can influence it if we all write to them or something. http://www.fridleytheatres.com

I've managed to make my own blog hosting through WORDPRESS which is a pretty handy blogging device if you are interested in bloggin' yourself. You can find my blog on my main website at http://www.divinefilms.com and you can follow that for more updates about Divine Productions photography and videography or follow Divine Productions on Facebook where we post tons of specials and deals that are coming up. Link to facebook is http://www.facebook.com/divineproduction...

I've got a new email newsletter themed with anything and everything Divine Productions which means you should sign up! Guaranteed no spam and you can always opt out if you don't like it. If you can't see the form below, go to http://bit.ly/bLXEC9 and fill out the form there.

Yes you caught my attention when you mentioned healthcare on this blog. You know I do have such interests on the topic as it affects not just our seniors but also those who are under 65. But I am glad that you include several information aside from talking about healthcare. You know I also want to watch How to train your dragon in 3D. Seen the trailer after I watch Alice in Wonderland.
