Crank 2 and Dance Flick - The Office Season FIVEPosted Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at 10:21 AM
So - another week, more flicks.
Crank 2: High Voltage This is a sequel to a mildly successful movie that wasn't supposed to be - so the best idea would be to make a sequel! Well, the sequel is more of the same blasted to new heights and manages to become boring doing this. There are some general moments that are pretty hilarious and some good action scenes as Jason Statham can do some pretty good action, but overall has lost the luster from the first flick. Still worth a watch if you enjoyed the first and not really worth watching if you haven't even picked up the first Crank. It has some inventive special effects and sequences that signal the directors might have something unique to offer us in the future but for now, the gimmicks out weigh the amazing and the movie fails to be worth more than a watch on a lazy afternoon.
Dance Flick I swore I wasn't going to watch this new film by the Wayans' Brothers, but I did and I regret wasting my time. It's the standard make fun of all the movies that are somewhat related to one topic - this time it's dance. While some of the flicks like this tend to be a bit funny - most are just dumb and this falls into the extremely dumb category. Don't watch it unless you hate yourself.
The Office Season Five The real winner of the week is the newest season of The Office on DVD. The Office is hilarious week after week and I always enjoy being able to pick up the entire season and watch the episodes back to back as I prepare for the new fall season. My wife will have the Office discs on repeat for the next couple months. It's that good! If you haven't seen The Office yet - check out Season 1 first and you'll be hooked...
That's it for this week - next week we've got the Wolverine flick! Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

There is a hole in my heart that continues to widen every time I hear that the Wayans Brothers keep being given money to make their horrible attempts at spoof films. I weep for our young people.
Oh boy, the "4th" Wolverine movie is coming out! Maybe now I'll get to see the surprise ending that DOESN'T show Hugh Jackman getting drunk in Japan. I still feel shafted after finding out I got the "yes we're doing a sequel" ending instead of the "Fakepool is alive" ending.
