Inkheart, Confessions of a Shopaholic, and Pink Panther 2

Posted Monday, June 22, 2009, at 11:13 AM

Movie Descriptions for this week. Pulled straight from the official descriptions. I managed to not watch any of these flicks this week. For many reasons, but mostly because I didn't have any desire to watch any of these. Does anybody out there think that any of these new flicks to DVD are worth investing some time? IF so, leave your review of the flicks in the comments.

Inkheart

Okay, I lied. I did watch this film. It's not really good, but it's not terrible. The story takes some time to really get moving but once it does - it's pretty entertaining. The entire story is about a family who the father happens to be a 'silver tongue,' which means when he reads a story out loud - it comes to life. He did this one time and his wife disappeared into the story he was reading as some bad guys came out. This is the biggest problem with the movie is that not all things happen all the time. For instance, nobody else has been captured into the book except his wife and now when he or another silver tongue reads someone doesn't get trapped in the book but rather just the book comes to life. Why the difference? Never explained, so

I don't know. That's just one thing out of many that the film does, but never explains the discrepancies. The plot follows this one time reading to try to get the wife back out of the book. Overall, a decent film - I probably won't watch it again.

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Rebecca Bloomwood is a sweet and charming New York City girl who has a tiny, little problem that is rapidly turning into a big problem: she's hopelessly addicted to shopping and drowning in a sea of debt. While Rebecca has dreams of working for a top fashion magazine, she can't quite get her foot in the door--that is, until she snags a job as an advice columnist for a financial magazine published by the same company. Overnight, her column becomes hugely popular, turning her into an overnight celebrity. But when her compulsive shopping and growing debt issues threaten to destroy her love life and derail her career, she struggles to keep it all from spiraling out of control...and is ultimately forced to reevaluate what's really important in life.

Pink Panther 2

When legendary treasures from around the world are stolen, including the priceless Pink Panther Diamond, Chief Inspector Dreyfus is forced to assign Inspector Clouseau to a team of international detectives and experts charged with catching the thief and retrieving the stolen artifacts.

That's it for this week - nothing to look forward to next week with Street Fighter and Jonas Brothers 3-D concert about all that is releasing next week.
