The Incredible Hulk

I reviewed this one in theatres and after watching on DVD, the opinion stays the same. It usually does. Either way, click on the following link to see the original article. http://www.mccookgazette.com/story/14376...

Expelled

I didn't have enough time to really watch this flick and will have to defer to the description instead of my review. Here it is!

Ben Stein travels the world and learns an awe-inspiring truth…that bewilders him, then angers him…and then spurs him to action when Ben realizes that he has been "Expelled," and that educators and scientists are being ridiculed, denied tenure and even fired -- for the "crime" of merely believing that there might be evidence of "design" in nature, and that perhaps life is not just the result of accidental, random chance.

To which Ben Says: "Enough!" And then gets busy. NOBODY messes with Ben.

AND, Sunday School Musical.

Remember those High School Musical movies on Disney that will be a full feature released in theatres later this month? They were catchy and somehow kept your attention even if you didn't know why you were still watching. Well, the Christian equivalent is Sunday School Musical, which is basically the same thing as High School Musical but set in a church and with some extra morals thrown in. Only problem, the show is not catchy and the music is terrible. I had high hopes for this little project, but I couldn't quite get past the terrible acting, awful filming, and the worst music ever. The story revolves around a boy in a choir who has to move and join a rival choir that puts him at odds with his old choir friends, however his old church is going to shut down so he convinces his new church choir to let his old friends join and compete in a regional choir competition to win $10,000 for his old church to stay open. Yep, the movie is about competing choirs. As exciting as that sounds, it isn't. I really wanted to like this movie and take it to my church and have a little movie night for the youth group, but nope, not gonna happen. It is good for a little laugh, so rent with caution.

That's it for this week. Remember to comment for your chance to win a free movie rental from Movie Gallery!
