Another great week for releases!
Iron Man First of all, I reviewed this in theatres so the full review can be found by going here, http://www.mccookgazette.com/story/14000....
Second, my opinions on DVD. Actually I watched it on Blu-Ray Disc and it was amazing. Great visuals really pop in HD and the level of detail always shines when you get to view it at home. Iron Man was just as I remembered it, an amazingly enjoyable flick with great acting, great story, and great visuals. Overall, this is a flick to buy! AND - easy to stomach as Movie Gallery has got the flick value priced at $16.99! Tell them Cody sent you from the Gazette to get the special price!
Forgetting Sarah Marshall This is a film from producer Judd Apatow who has had a string of hits with '40 Year Old Virgin,' 'Knocked Up,' and 'Superbad.' And, if you couldn't guess, this flick is more of the same gross out humor, sweet sentiments, and overall growing pains. Sarah Marshall is a star on a hit TV series and is dating the guy who writes the score. They've been together for 5 years and the movie starts out with her dumping him. This sets the tone for the rest of the flick, as the guy getting dumped decides to get away from it all with a vacation in Hawaii, which just happens to be the place Sarah Marshall and her new boyfriend go to relax. So, the rest of the movie is about awkward confrontations and getting over it. There are some hilarious moments and some rather boring moments, but overall the flick is well worth watching as it has some great moments and if you liked any of Apatow's previous flicks, this will be right up your alley.
That's it for this week. Come back next week for more awesomeness. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

I really loved Forgetting Sarah Marshall... it was HILARIOUS and you know what, kudos to them for the male nudity! Its funny how people get their panties in a bunch about an exposed penis when naked women parade around in movies all the time with no big uproar. Forgetting Sarah Marshall is Superbad and Knocked up... with a sweeter story underneath. Sure, I laughed at the sex jokes, but I also laughed at the goofy innocent vampire opera.... cute.
