Nim's Island, Starship Troopers 3Posted Monday, August 4, 2008, at 10:50 AM
After a short break, back with more reviews!
First up, Nim's Island. This is a great family flick that I managed to watch and review in theatres and my opinion stays the same after experiencing it at home. Check out the original review at http://www.mccookgazette.com/story/13234.... Starship Troopers 3 To be completely honest, I didn't watch this. I glanced at it a few times and randomly watched bits and pieces but the movie didn't keep my attention. However, a friend of mine enjoyed watching it quite a bit. The big difference here was he was a fan of the first Starship Troopers and I wasn't, so being the third in the Starship series, I was still not entertained, but he loved it. So, if you liked the first Starship Troopers then this might be a must rent, however if you are like me and didn't like the first one, skip the new one. Obviously, you don't need me to spell out the plot, but a simple version would be that a group of Starship Troopers battle some bugs/aliens/whatnot and are victorious. So, there's your shortest movie review of the week! There are a few other minor releases this week, but nothing outstanding. This week was pretty bare for new releases, but next week manages to pick up steam with Smart People. It should be a great release that never managed to get a big theatrical run. |
