Strange Wilderness, National Treasure 2Posted Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at 1:42 PM
Not a whole lot of new stuff coming out this week, but at least one good quality flick.
Strange Wilderness Strange Wilderness is the latest in the line of Happy Madison produced shows that didn't get a theatrical release. Happy Madison films are basically movies produced and starring the Adam Sandler group. This could be Adam Sandler but mostly his group of friends that appear in almost all of his flicks as well. This is like there side project without Mr. Sandler. A lot of this flicks are pretty decent and Strange Wilderness is not exception. It's a pretty decent little comedy that throws a few funny jokes your way and a wacky story to center it around. This one tries to get you to believe that a wildlife camera crew is on the hunt for Bigfoot so that there show doesn't get canceled. Overall, the flick is decent for a watch, but you probably won't find yourself visiting the wilderness again. This is a definite rental, not a buy flick and if you enjoy anything by Adam Sandler or his group of friends, then you'll probably at least enjoy one viewing of this flick. National Treasure 2 The big, high quality release of the week is National Treasure 2. This is a flick that does a great job on figuring out what we liked about the first National Treasure and then doing it again. Obviously this is a pretty safe sequel and if you liked the first, you are almost guaranteed to like this one. The story starts off with our main hero, who is in disbelief when a stranger presents a missing historical document that would essentially make our Hero's (Ben) great great grandfather a conspirator in the assassination of President Lincoln. The entire movie then progresses around Ben finding clues and facts scattered throughout the world to try to prove his grandfather innocent. It's an amazing journey and one well worth taking. The National Treasure series takes more than a few tips from the Indiana Jones series and with the 4th movie of Indy coming up, its pretty fitting to release National Treasure in the same week. So, go watch National Treasure, but remember if you want to see the original, go check out Indiana Jones in the theatres! That's it for this week. Come back next time, when we get to watch Rambo! |
