Transformers and The Invisible

With another week comes another couple movies.

The Invisible

This remarkable show features a young cast with a 'ghost' story. The show centers around Nick who is a bright young man who gets wrongly accused of 'ratting' Annie out for stealing some jewelry. Annie is deeply troubled and beats Nick up with the help of her two 'bodyguards.' They end up beating him close to death and think that they have killed him. In a rush, they hide his body and take off. Nick is not dead and his 'spirit' comes back to try to get someone to go find his body and save him. Only problem is no one can hear or see him. Then he finds out that Annie can hear him and hate turns to understanding as Nick follows Annie around to get her to help save him.

The Invisible is a well crafted ghost story with some slight story issues and a few scenes that end up being unintentionally funny. However, the overall story is quite engaging and was well worth the watch.

Transformers

If anybody has read my review on Transformers when it was in theatres, they know that I loved this movie. Nothing has changed in the 5-6 months since the last time I wrote about it. I still love this show.

The story is simple. Two races of Transformers, the Autobots and Decepticons, are fighting to find the allspark. The allspark creates and destroys life. The Autobots want it to recreate their home planet that was destroyed and the Decepticons want to destroy everything with it. The war comes to Earth as the allspark is hidden here.

A few humans get involved with the Transformers from the beginning and provide much of the comic relief, emotional points of the story. Shia Lebouf is the main character Sam and does an amazing job. Shia carries the movie with pure energy that is infectious. Megan Fox plays the love interest with a tough streak. Between the two, they help out the Transformers in a final jaw dropping fight sequence.

The Transformers flick is packed full of action with just enough talking to move the story forward. It is my favorite movie of the year so far and I highly recommend checking this huge blockbuster out.

That wraps up another week of movie reviews. Leave me some comments and we'll see you next week. Both of these flicks are available for rent at Movie Gallery in McCook.
