WEB Eulogy

WEB Eulogy

For anyone, who might care,
I have been two days, off the air.
Change of venue, in my lap,
laid on me, just like a slap;

As if the Web would never be,
I only had use of my 'local' PC.
Just like when PC's came to be,
No one to talk to except me to me.

I'd lost the world, nothing there,
Made me want to find, and pull my hair.
Great pain I felt, as I removed the PC hook,
I went to the shelf, and pulled down a book;

The Book, that has always been there for me.
The one called B I B L E.
No power needed, its words to share,
Great power needed to place words there;

Dusted my easy-chair, used only by me,
after I praised God, on my bended knee.
Oh, my PC has plenty, of Bible memory,
Bibles, writings, and commentary;

I needed revisit my God just as free,
As the days before I bought a PC.
I say nothing new, so don't use that look,
Go to your own shelf, and grab the same Book.

God may be calling us to lead a simple life,
As He may, soon, call for His Royal Wife.
Have your Bible by your side, so they know,
Where you were at, when God Called you to Go.

AMEN

Nice work...I have to say there is something strangely powerful and comforting about a small town poet. I admit I was drawn to this work because I thought the title (WEB Eulogy)indicated a eulogy to W.E.B. DuBois (my ignorance layeth bare).

But stopping to read did inspire a thought...the internet may distract people from the Book (and the simple life), but without it I fear your circulation would suffer as well, as would your reminder to live life for a purpose bigger than yourself (secular, nonsecular, or otherwise). Regardless, I am pleased that my internet connection is working, and I have the ability to read your thoughts.

Thank you for your kind words, Benevolus.

I Praise God, and share that Praise, through my poetic approach to that Praise. My side-prayer is that 'Those who wish to see the God I Praise, may, hopefully find a key to that experience, in my rhyme, and story-line. I hope you found something to talk to God about, in my words. If so, I have accomplished my desire, at the gazette.
