Promises, Promises, One Holds True
Promises, Promises, One Holds True
By Arley Steinhour 041311
Congress has a limp again, this one came on fast,
I guess the 'Do-it' attitude just didn't want to last.
They say the job is tougher than they ever thought,
Settled in to office, promise made, now be for naught.
We complain about inaction, called debating at the top,
While not doing anything, to weed them from the crop.
We feed them with our apathy, as we look the 'other way,'
And now we may reap the bitter fruit, if Slavery comes to stay.
The time is soon oncoming, when the world will turn on us,
We'll wonder just what happened, when we're hit by a big Bus.
Third world nations will sue, for aid-promises we made,
Courts foreclose on all we own, to see that debt is paid.
Entitlements have greatest sway, over ownership they say,
Debts made by Representatives, accumulate night and day.
The future isn't Rosie, as two more years is far too long,
Our country be beyond retrieval, we can't repair the wrong.
We must raise our supplications, to Jesus every day,
That He come bail us out again, and maybe even stay.
Time is ripe for Great Tribulation Woes,
Church Age ends, Jesus will forever close.
He'll pull the weed, cultivate His Faithful crop,
And a thousand years later, He'll stop Time's clock.
So, if you haven't done so, get down upon your knees,
Turn your heart to Jesus, don't wait for H--l to freeze.
AMEN
