You light up our life

Through all mortal strife

In your eye's make us complete;

We stumble and fall

But through it all

Allow us to pray at your feet.

In the 'we' who restrain

Like Dam holding rain

Holy Spirit resides as his home;

Need be taken away

From Hell-filled Seven day

Satan on Earth then can roam.

Those belonging to you

Fully blessed follow true

Called home midnight or noon;

Years have flown by

In the blink of an eye

You call us up, and home soon.

Many won't hear

Preferring a beer

To the blessing in your Holy Word;

Until you are ready

Our witness be steady

Not missing an ear to have heard.
