To wake up near the mid-night hour, and not seem to be in bed,
Makes the mind feel anxious, like something's wrong, inside my head.
Home be gone, winter air felt warm, without my glasses, vision quite clear.
I felt no earthly pressure, feeling motion, but not speed, no wind noise filled my ear.
Wide awake, that's what I'd be, thoughts start to come together,
Flying so high, with no support, weighing much less than a feather.
Oh, my, I'm dead, I have to be, but I'm healthy as a horse,
But here I am flying faster than light not using an energy force.
There's light ahead, so white and bright, the sun or maybe worse,
But no, that can't be, fear great trouble, and cannot find reverse.
But like a breath of fresh spring air, zipped straight on through that light,
And into utter darkness, except ahead, a clearer light so bright.
A tunnel's what some call it, I remember articles about,
'Near Death Experience,' is what they cited, I offered a mighty shout.
Oh, me, oh my, the heart now beats, as if I ran a race to win,
Knowing then, I'm headed Home, for ever to be with Him.
But where's the crowd, the Rapture crowd, I looked every where,
But no one else could I find, I traveled quite alone, Not Fair.
The Rapture was supposed to be, the way that I went Home,
But something has gone wrong, I thought, cause I was quite alone.
Oh my, if I am dreaming, this dream is oh so real,
I'm wide awake, with my constant pain, it I cannot feel.
This cannot be a dream, I figured, or the pain would wake you up,
It has so many times before, but arm now has perfect rotator cup.
Dear Jesus, I am on my way, to be with you for your Eternal Day,
My mind did race with joyous prayer and praise, so swiftly on my way.
No bugs to mess up my ear to ear grin, ever so wide and bright,
Even if the tunnel weren't lit, it I could brighten with smiling light.
Oh sing dear heart, with all your might, I'll join in with voice so clear,
In Heaven, heart-song, matched with voice, is a beauty to the ear.
My lips do utter a happy laugh, as it passes them, filling the pure air,
About an old, old, song I heard, from the war about 'wing and prayer.'
I'm coming home, I'm coming in, to see my Lord Jesus on wing and prayer,
I feel so light and happy, wondering what to say, and I'm almost there.
Dear Holy Spirit, I know your there, sing out as loud as you can cry,
Make my words to Jesus Christ, be perfect, to put a sparkle in His eye.
Ahead there be a bright lit place, that dazzled my crying eyes,
Hard to see, what's going on, with emotion that fills the skies.
As quickly as I had woke-up, I stood on His Hallowed Ground,
Before a Bejeweled Golden Gate, with no wall that could surround,
Feeling very awkward, I know the Gate, I cannot walk around,
Nor can the gate be opened, though no lock on it be found.
Surprised am I, no one be there, with such beauty dazzles the eye,
Beyond the gate, some how, some way, scene beyond compare, does lie.
I see a stone bench near, beside the Gate, a perfect place to pray and sigh,
As my knees keep wanting to kiss the ground, heart prayer demands to fly.
Time, some time, however long did pass, if my mind truly understood,
My brain was getting used to this, no passing time, in a world so good.
I felt an urgent need to pray, a prayer, seen but never heard,
The Gate began to open, as I prayed my silent heart-felt word.
The prayer I didn't utter, proved words more beautiful to see,
Than any I had ever heard, and they came from lowly me.
In prayer, I stood upon my feet, followed my words through Golden gate,
Staying as close as I could get, focusing on the route my words did take.
I suddenly did notice, I was beyond the portal of the Gate,
Closed softly there behind me, to leave now be too late.
I noticed things about myself, that I had never known to be,
Stepping through accomplished a perfect cleansing of my me.
Outside the Gate I glimpsed a pile of ugly things on the ground,
But flame erupted from the grass, and the ugly it did surround.
Then I saw an Angel standing, next to where the ugliness had been of late,
He bent, and lifted up something, and walked through the Golden Gate.
He looked at me, with sparkling eyes, bright smile shining in His eye and lip,
Reaching out, lay hand upon my shoulder, and lightly brushed away a chip.
A chip of sin, that had made it through the Gate, waiting for this One,
To do the final cleansing, in a Loving way, only coming from the SON.
My Joy was Over-whelming, my eyes desperately wanted to cry,
The touch of His hand on shoulder, promised tears no more from eye.
This Angel, not, it was my Lord, my Jesus, standing there,
True understanding sank in, with me his Heaven, He would share.
Left hand grasped item retrieved from flame, the pure Treasure He had found,
Looking down to my surprise, with love and Grace, my bowed head He crowned.
My heart did urge that I should ask, my Jesus, in front of me,
What happened to His Rapture, did I die, or be the only one set free?
He look into my wondering eyes, smile faded, warning signs flashed red,
I knew that He would not speak, as loud noises filled my head.
The sound seemed so familiar, and Jesus suddenly was gone,
Twas then I realized as I was woke up, from dream no longer on.
I didn't have to try to cry, the tears did fall like rain,
Though dream it be, I then knew, I'd never more feel pain.
So, now you have the story, about my dream trip of going Home,
And how I feel my eternity starts, changes made be His alone.
To one and all, I truly say,
Happy New Year, and a day.
