Ringside at the Fight of the CenturyPosted Thursday, February 9, 2012, at 7:11 PM
and we go Ringside... Mr. Reason: Welcome back fans, this is your announcer, Mr. Reason and I am here Ringside with our fight commentator, Common Sense. We have reached the final rounds in this full contact titanic struggle. A decades old battle that currently finds the Champion reeling from the unrelenting pressure of the Challenger. Common Sense: America is battered right now. A few rounds ago, the Champion had been able to deliver solid right hands of Liberty to the face of the Challenger. The Reagan Revolution delivered millions of new jobs when taxes were cut. The government received billions in new revenue. This had the Challenger down for a moment, hurting and ready for the knockout. Mr. Reason: Those were good rounds for America. The Champion followed up with devastating combinations, with wicked left hooks; Peace through Strength, and straight right hands; deregulation, and tough foreign policy; uppercuts, which brought and end to the Soviet Union and the tearing down of the Iron Curtain. All of these powerful punches had the Challenger ready to crumble. I thought the fight might be over but the Champ inexplicably backed off! And let the Philosopher Kings regroup. I wonder why America did not follow through? Common Sense: That has long been a weakness of the Champ, he's a nice guy, who'd rather spend time with his family, and fish and hunt than constantly defend Liberty, and he gets weary in well doing. We must remember, that America no longer has his Manager. God had long been the Champs mentor, and America enjoyed success with God's leadership. You can plainly see that America has struggled without God's excellent direction. Mr. Reason: The Challenger took advantage of the Champs error in not finishing the fight, and firing his first Manager, God, and has rebounded, using his formidable weapons. Common Sense: Using the media, the Challenger delivered kicks and punches to the groin, a continual stream of low blows and cheap shots the Champ was not prepared for. The Champ is a tough guy, but you get kicked in the jewels a few thousand times, and it will effect you. Mr. Reason: I was surprised that the Champ was caught off guard with these tactics, as we all know the Philosopher Kings, the Socialists and Commies of the World, have NEVER won a fight without cheating, without low blows. Common Sense: The media low blows and smears are not the only dirty tactics the Challenger uses. The Philosopher Kings use charges of racism and race baiting; viscous eye gouges, that effects the vision of the Champ. These repeated gouges to the eyes, prevent the Champ from seeing the Challenger clearly. Mr. Reason: Oh absolutely, then the Challenger attacks the Champs legs, the solid foundations of production and work ethic, with Unions and entitlements. These attacks have slowed the Champ down, and made him easy prey for the solid heel kicks from the lawyers and atheists. Common Sense: They all take their toll, and the Challenger is smart, and uses all his weapons. The staggering abortion numbers are steady punches to the heart of the Champion. Fifty four million shots to the heart, and the Champion is staggered, and dizzy, and never saw the vicious kicks to the head and body that came rolling around in the form of Obamacare. Mr. Reason: That sent the Champ to the ground, and then the Challenger moved in. The tax collectors and the bureaucratic regulators moved forward and grasping their hands around America's neck, they fought with all their might to choke the very life from the Champion. Common Sense: I thought the Champ was toast and America beaten and its citizens committed to economic slavery and misery Liberals crave, but, perhaps by Divine Providence, the Champ was saved by the bell, the 2010 midterm elections and the Tea Party Patriots. They sounded the bell, and America, the Champion, gained a small reprieve. Mr. Reason: The fight is about to resume, so let's take a listen into the corners of the fighters. First, let's go to the Challengers corner. (In the Challengers corner) Manager Socialism: You're doin' great! You had him, until them Tea Party creeps saved his ass. Get in their and pound away in the Champs middle with those kicks of class envy! You have got to step up those kicks! Don't let him breathe, keep kicking with hate as well. Get folks to really hate each other! Manager Soros: Keep working on that misinformation as well. Those punches to the head effect him. Keep up those low blows! Kick America hard in the balls every time he uses that jab of truth on you. Keep borrowing money from China. Take away his ability to provide a living. Try and get as many folks in need as possible! Manager Occupy: Poke his eyes out! Keep up the charges of racism! Cry racism from morning till night, never let up, race card 24/7, cry racism at every opportunity. You've got to blind him! Blind him! Blind him! Ruin the economy. Pull his tongue out and stop him from speaking! Mr. Reason: Well there you have it from the Challengers corner. They want the Philosopher Kings to continue with what has worked. Let's hear what is being said in the Champs corner. (In the Champions corner) Manager Middle: Try and keep your distance. Don't provoke him. Focus on defense and try and survive the fight, maybe we'll get a decision from the Court that will be favorable. Don't say anything to make the Philosopher Kings mad. Even though the Challenger is kicking you in the groin, lying about you, smearing you, doing everything in his power to destroy you and kill you, the crowd will get mad if you call him a Socialist. So be careful. Manager Conservative: Don't listen to him Champ! You are the Champion. You have got to get your head in this fight. Quit playing by the Challengers rules. He breaks all the rules anyway, fight back with your weapons. The Crowd will respond if you tell the truth and expose his weaknesses. Use your straight right hands of Liberty. This clown cannot defend his hatred of Liberty, that is why he wants to destroy it! Jab and jab again and again with truth. He'll move in with low blows, and that is when you start countering with front kicks. Expose the lies of Liberalism. Every time he throws a low blow, you expose another lie of the left. He'll get the picture. Manager Middle: No champ! Play it smart, stay back, don't take the Challenger on directly. Manager Conservative: Manager Middle will get you McCain-ed Champ. Another knock down like that you cannot survive. Use your weapons, tell the truth, expose the left and their lies. And one more thing. God is right here, ready to help you, all you need do is ask. There is nothing the Philosopher Kings can do to remove God from your heart. Remember the Constitution. Keep that goal in mind Champ. The rights, given to us by our Creator of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. It's up to you Champ, it's up to you America, there is no one else left who will fight. You get your head in the game, and win, or this Republic dies. I wish it were not so Champ, but now that you see what is a stake, the very future of Liberty on this Planet, I know you'll pull this out! Common Sense: Wow! A passionate plea from Manager Conservative in that corner. A Reminder of what is at stake. Will the Champ respond? Mr. Reason: I wonder which Manager the Champ will Listen too? And there is the bell... Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

All of these managers are simply terrible. They should each be flogged in public for offering such ridiculous and unfounded advice.
The champ is doomed if he listens to any of the aforementioned. Lies all around. No honesty at all.
Creative though Sam. Writerly? Sure. Based in reality? Coo-coo.
Oh wow an allegory! It's like Animal farm but crappy.
Thanks for the wonderful post, Sam!
I fear the Champ has fought his last fight in the U.S. though. He has moved overseas where the fights are not rigged like they are here. All three judges have been bought off by the powers that be here.
Moved overseas where the fights aren't rigged? You mean to places like communist China? Or how about socialist Germany? Or maybe you mean Dubai where people "disappear" when their business deals don't pan out. Not rigged overseas...Laughable.
The only reason a boxing match exists is to ultimately award one of the contestants with a "win".
Vince Lombardi said "Winning is not a sometime thing, it's an all-the-time thing. You don't win once in a while, you don't do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time. Winning is a habit. Unfortunately so is losing."
Playing it safe has lost many sports matches. I believe it has also cost victory in political matches as well. Go for the win.
The CEO of Coke says China is more business-friendly than the U.S.

Laughable? I feel certain this CEO knows more about it than anyone on this blog.
Wrong again, John. I am not sure about you, but I do not think Americans are willing to go back to 1850 working conditions. Chinese workers essentially live in indentured servitude. They live at the factory, which have nets around the first floor to keep the employees from hitting the ground when they try to kill themselves.
But despite the fact that Chinese people cannot breath clean air, live in desperation, earn a wage that wouldn't buy them a Bud Light, I am sure they take stock in the fact that the game isn't rigged for American corporations.
Enlighten yourself, John. Communism and China are not the answer.

The article from your own link was about Apple manufacturing in China. I assume you still use your IPhone and IPad though. Your faux outrage is therefore hilarious. Even if your stuff isn't Apple, flip it over and see where it was made.
You are business-friendly with China, too! So you are partly responsible for the conditions of the Chinese workers you lament, LOL.
John,
I don't own Apple products, you are right about that.
I also try to be conscious of where I buy the things I do so that I minimize the "human cost" involved. The capitalist logic is that we as consumers have some impact on the way companies do business if we vote with our wallets. Working conditions are of course a much harder thing to keep transparent with all of our companies on foreign shores. Nonetheless, information that does get back, like that in the article, will certainly have an impact on my future purchases. It should for you too.
Here is the bottom line: the laissez-faire environment in China (and other places), especially where workers-rights are concerned, have led to atrocious working conditions and unconscionable treatment of employess for the sake of cheaper products and a healthier bottom line. We cannot control what the Chinese governments allows its companies to do to its citizens, but I am not sure what to make of the fact that you are advocating for similar treatment for American citizens. Pretty shameful in my opinion.
