  • Sam,

Thank you for this (however brief it may be) amount of levity and repose. The last story you cited, the story of Jason Wright, is particularly moving to me. I don't mean to detract from the other inspirational stories you have found, they are all quite good, no doubt. But I just read Jon Krakauer's "Where Men Win Glory", the Pat Tillman story, and it is incredibly powerful. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in selflessness, honor, and standing tall for what you believe in the gusty winds of our tumultuous world at present.

Charter schools are highly provocative and as a result of Davis Guggenhiem's (director of "An Inconvenient Truth") documentary "Waiting for Superman", they have received a fair amount of praise and scrutiny. But this young man's vision and dedication to "other people's children" should be an inspiration to us all. Thanks.

Pat Tillman's story was quite amazing.

In sports, it is often the misbehavior of the sports star that is talked about. Then their are guys like Jason Wright.

    Thanks for your comments.

  • More good news, a true conservative it making his way to the top, Herman Cain. You wouldn't know this by reading the usual MSM version of the news, but it's making it's way on the web. The "moderates and liberal on the republican side seem concerned, must be what the people want.

I like it Sam. I encourage you to post more. By the way - I've really enjoyed that Hope N Change cartoon site that you linked to one of your blogposts. For other readers: they now have a pdf document that is a compilation of the first 100 cartoons.

    Hilarious.

  • As the father of a Softball Player, I was quite touched by the first video clip. THAT.... is the kind of victory I'm talking about.

Thanks Sam for that clip, emotion flowed over me as I watched this viewing of true sportsmanship.

I have raised my children to be quite respectful of others and I have to say.... Those girls were an inspiration to all those who play. I will show my daughter this clip and with any luck, she too will be overcome by not only those girls, but that teams incredable sportsmanship.

GOD BLESS THEM! What a story!

    Nick
