Putting America On Trial

Posted Thursday, November 19, 2009, at 10:24 PM

I am not surprised by President Obama's decision to give terrorist killers the rights that American citizens enjoy. This same man, Obama, would not vote to give rights to newborn babies, who managed to survive the savagery of an abortion, but now he schemes to put America on trial.

This decision to try terrorists in New York, well, to quote Representative Peter King, "may be the worst decision by a U.S. President in history."

It is worse than that. This upcoming circus, these terrorists trials, are going to be used for nothing more than America bashing. They will take years, and cost hundreds of millions of dollars, will be used by the ACLU, and other anti-American groups to put the Bush Administration and our CIA on trial.

Why would the President do this? With other Presidents in our history, we citizens may have disagreed with their politics, but you knew, down inside, that your President loved his country. Not so with Obama, he loves himself, and it should be obvious to all by now that our President does not care for America.

With polls starting to run against him, and many Independents and mainstream Conservatives seeing Obama for the radical leftist he really is, the liberals need their boogie man. That boogie man is Bush-Cheney. He needs to keep the "four legs good, two legs bad" crowd under his control, and bleating his propaganda.

The timing of these circus trials will be made to coincide with the next Presidential elections, so that, with unemployment climbing, and trillions wasted, economy damaged, military damaged, health care system damaged, the value of the dollar almost destroyed, taxes and energy cost rising, Obama and the extremists will run against Bush again.

Foreign governments and other enemies of our country, will use the accusations made by these terrorists slime, and their taxpayer funded hordes of lawyer dogs, to hurt and embarrass our country. Terrorists will use these anti-American trials to recruit more haters.

The phony charges that the CIA engaged in torture, first used by liberals to undermine the war effort under President Bush, will now be used by these terrorists, and those un-American lies will be promoted around the world.

Recent polls have clearly demonstrated what many of us in the mainstream in this country already know, that the extremist liberals in America, are decidedly a small minority. They represent only 20% of the American electorate. The mainstream of America is represented by 40% Conservatives and 37% Independents. We need to stand together against the continued radical extremism of this administration.

Time for you Democrats, that have not been completely smitten by the messiah complex of Barack Obama, to start speaking out for your country.

You Independents and Conservatives that make up mainstream thought, need to understand the ugly mindset of America's radical left. They don't care if they are forever poor, just as long as you are. Liberals don't care if they ever achieve financial success, just as long as you don't enjoy financial success. Liberals will gladly become slaves of the State, if it means you will be enslaved as well. They want to go to hell, and as long as they can drag you there with them.

I doubt it will do any good to protest this decision. The Narcissist in Chief will do what he wants, when he wants, the people be damned. What is needed by we in the mainstream is resolve to stand against Obama and his evil plans for our Republic.

Wow Sam, it only took one post for the liberal goose-steppers to call you ignorant! That has to be a record!!!!

You know Sam, we really might want to watch this show in NYC. It might be the biggest circus the procrastinator-in-chief ever sets up!

Picture Robert Reich and Charley Rangel chatting on C-Span:

Reich: You know senator, we are going to spend millions on security for this cluster-f**k

Charley: Damn the cost! This is a great opportunity to blast that ugly four-legged monster, Bush-Cheney!

Reich: Yes, that is true senator. However, we must be careful that we don't give jobs to white security workers, or allow white cops in NYC or white FBI agents to get any overtime. I am sure we have lots of folks that need jobs and overtime more than those rotten white cops and white G-men.

Charley: Well, I certainly agree with you, and we shouldn't worry about the white middle-class being bothered by this, because they are going to be too busy trying to find the jobs we didn't save with the stupid stimulus cluster-f**k!

I can see it now, Sam! Lower Manhattan roped off and shut down! Great stimulus for NYC!!!

I really think they should move the trial to east LA. The cops there are used to working in a war zone!

Too bad they didn't drown that piece of crap at Gitmo!

Like many other things uttered by those on the right, many of whom either choose to ignore facts or just don't care, their arguments never hold water. The statement that this decision to try terrorists in New York, to quote Representative Peter King, "may be the worst decision by a U.S. President in history." is mind numbingly false. Here is a list of people that have been or are being tried in NYC for terror acts on American soil or abroad. I don't have the time or energy to address the rest of the inaccuracies in the blog.

1993-94: Trial in first World Trade Center bombing.

On Feb. 26, 1993, an explosive-packed Ryder truck was driven into the garage of the World Trade Center in New York, killing 6 people and injuring more than 1,000. After a six month trial with 204 witnesses and 1,000 pieces of evidence, all four defendants were convicted. Each receives a 240-year prison sentence without the possibility of parole.

1994-95: "Day of Terror" trial.

Twelve defendants, including "Blind Cleric" Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, were tried for a terror plot thwarted by the FBI in June 1993. Followers of Sheikh Rahman planned to bomb prominent sites in New York City, including the George Washington Bridge, the Lincoln & Holland Tunnels, the United Nations, and the New York FBI office. Ten defendants were convicted and sentenced to 25 to 85 years in prison. Two pleaded guilty and received life sentences.

1995-96: "Manila Air" plot.

Ramzi Yousef, nephew of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, was one of three defendants tried in Manhattan Federal Court in a plot to plant a bomb in a dozen US commercial jetliners timed to go off when they were over the Pacific. Mr. Yousef, Abdul Hakim Murad, and Wali Khan Amin Shah were all convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment, with Yousef sentenced to life in prison plus 240 years.

1997: Trial of Ramzi Yousef for his role as mastermind of the first World Trade Center bombing. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

1998: East Africa American embassy bombings.

US embassies in Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, were bombed, killing 224 people and injuring more than 4,000. Osama bin Laden and 22 others were indicted for their role in the attacks; four were caught and convicted. Another suspect, Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani, a Tanzanian national, is scheduled to be tried in September 2010.

2002: Millennium bombing plot.

Algerian nationals Mokhtar Haouari, Abdel Ghani Meskini, and Ahmed Ressam were charged in a conspiracy to bomb the Los Angeles airport during the millennium celebrations. Tried in a New York federal court, Mr. Haouari was convicted of conspiring to supply material support to Mr. Ressam's plan to enter the US from Canada and set off a bomb at the L.A. airport. He was sentenced to 24 years. Meskini entered a plea agreement with the Justice department to testify against other suspects in exchange for a lighter sentence. Mr. Ressam testified against Haouari, and was sentenced in 2005 by a Los Angeles court to 22 years in prison.

2004-06: New York subway bomb plot.

James Elshafay and Shahawar Matin Siraj, both US citizens, were arrested for plotting to bomb a subway station near Madison Square Garden in New York City before the Republican National Convention. Mr. Siraj was convicted in 2006 and sentenced to 30 years in prison. Mr. Elshafay pleaded guilty and received a five-year sentence for testifying against his co-conspirator.

2007-ongoing: JFK Airport bomb plot.

Four men were arrested in June 2007 over a plot to bomb fuel lines connected to the JFK airport in New York. Abdel Nur and Abdul Kadir of Guyana, cleric Kareem Ibrahim of Trinidad, and Guyana-born US citizen Russell Defreitas allegedly planned to use bombs in order to ignite millions of gallons of jet fuel at the airport. The plot reportedly never went beyond the planning stages. Mr. Defreitas was arrested in Brooklyn. The other three were detained in Trinidad and extradited in June 2008. The men pleaded not guilty to the charges and are awaiting trial.

2009: Oregon terrorist training camp

Lebanese-born Swedish citizen Oussama Kassir was arrested in Prague in 2005 on a warrant filed by US prosecutors for plotting to set up a jihadist training camp in Oregon and operating websites with instructions on how to make bombs. In May 2009, he was found guilty in a New York court of 11 charges, including providing material support to Al Qaeda and distributing information on explosives and weapons of mass destruction, and later sentenced to life in prison.

2009-ongoing: New York synagogue bomb plot

Four men were arrested in the Bronx in May 20, 2009 after allegedly plotting to detonate bombs near a synagogue, and to shoot Stinger surface-to-air missiles at Air National Guard aircraft at Stewart Airport in Newburgh, N.Y. Fake bombs and missiles were provided by a government informant. On June 2, 2009, James Cromitie, Onta Williams, David Williams, and Laguerre Payen were charged in an eight-count indictment, and are awaiting trial.

2010: Denver/NYC bomb plot

Denver resident Najibullah Zazi was arrested on September 20, 2009, on suspicion of associating with Al Qaeda and planning to carry out a terrorist attack in New York. Subsequently, his father, Mohammed Wali Zazi, and his imam Ahmad Wais Afzali were also arrested. Najibullah Zazi is currently in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn awaiting trial.

2010: Fourth suspect in East Africa American embassy bombings

Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani, a Tanzanian national, is scheduled to be tried in September 2010 for his alleged role in the US Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998. US Attorney General Eric Holder has issued a letter directing the US attorney's office not to seek the death penalty. Indicted on 286 charges, including conspiring with Al Qaeda, he was captured in Pakistan and detained at Guantánamo Bay. He was transferred in June 2009 to New York to stand trial.

jeffhager, Thanks for your little list here. You must have attended the standard liberal school of debate. Just list a bunch of facts, relevant or not, and then claim intellectual superiority. Your list did not refute a single point I made in the blog. That happens sometimes when you are simply a puppet of extreme leftist thought. Maybe you can answer this, why did Obama support military trails for KSM and other in 2006?

Duff, funny you should mention that these terrorists circus shows could be called stimulus. The truly moronic Dick Durbin from Illinois, said that the residents of Thompson Illinois, are experiencing a "dream come true" with Gitmo detainees coming to Illinois. Dick the Turbin Durbin then went on to praise the 1800 jobs, all with "wonderful benefits" the new Gitmo in Illinois will bring. Yes folks, a dream come true.

-- Posted by sameldridge on Fri, Nov 20, 2009, at 8:37 AM

No one could make this stuff up Sam!!! What a circus!! Did turby say anything about making sure white people didn't get any of those 1800 jobs???

-- Posted by dufferxyz on Fri, Nov 20, 2009, at 8:45 AM

Duff - what do you think of Carl's argument that water boarding is torture? Do you marvel at their selective indignation? Yes, good little Carl is all worried about KSM getting water boarded, but so little regard for 3000 murder victims a day in America's Planned Parenthood killing centers.

To the confused and polluted liberal mind, water boarding a terrorist who masterminded the murder of 1000's of innocents, and caused billions of dollars in damage, is torture. BUT, ripping a human baby from her mothers womb, and tearing that baby to shreds causing that baby's death, is just a medical procedure.

Yessir Duff, it takes years of "education" to be that confused. What is humorous is that these same liberals try and pass off their delusions as actual intellectual thought.

No kidding Sam!

Then Mr. "weird science" ALGORE puts his stupidity on display! You know ALGORE, the guy who created heaven, earth, and the internet in seven days? While pitching geothermal energy, he talks about the earth's core being "millions of degrees" hot!!! And we only have to drill 2 kilometers to get to it! I think he watched "2012", took some bad s**t, and had himself a delusion! How can anyone be that dumb! I think the "community organizer" needs to appoint him the "Stupidity Czar!"

-- Posted by dufferxyz on Fri, Nov 20, 2009, at 9:20 AM

As I said before, its too bad they didn't drown that monkey at Gitmo! But, upon further review, maybe we should send him to a Planned Parenthood liberal-approved killing center, and let them hack him into little pieces! That would give Carl and PP, et.al. a warm, fuzzy feeling! Maybe even send them some pickled parts for their collection!

I guess a long list of factual information is just too much to handle for some folks. Never let the facts get in the way of ideology or political views??? I was brought up in the "liberal school of thought" in West Ward elementary and Central Elementary and Republican Valley High School. All those honorable teachers whom I can count as legitimate contributors of my thought process, for my feelings and beliefs in reasoning and civil liberties, and the great community that I was fortunate enough to grow up in, were nothing but liberal trash.

Sam Eldridge, I respect you as a fellow American, but to trash my beliefs as nothing but brainwashing is to spit in the face of the community that I was born and raised in. I currently live in a place where conformity and obedience are virtues of the successful. Where independent thought and dissention are offenses punishable by beatings and prolonged punishment. Please don't tell me that Obama and his "thugs" are even in the same league as Josef Stalin. Get real, get a life, and the next time you are on Norris Avenue kiss a brick for me because you are truly in God's country.

or the "word"...

-- Posted by jeffhager on Fri, Nov 20, 2009, at 12:27 PM

Jeff / I don't think you answered Sam's points at all. The list you provided has nothing to do with this upcoming show trial in NYC. At at time when the USA is broke, and having to barrow and print up inflationary phony money every single second to pay pills and fund slush pots, why throw more cash away on these terrorist killers?

I might offer some advice Jeff, you seem genuine, so I would be cautious about Inglaterra. He flatters you because he thinks he has an ally to help him disgorge his leftist dogma.

I would ask you to consider the motives of this Administration. There are many of us, regular business people, husbands, sons, fathers, dads, football fans, having grown up in small towns, and neighborhood schools, that are concerned that this current Administration has less than honorable intentions.

Jeff, if you are between 25-35, you had better be very sure about what is really going on with this group in power, because you are going to be paying for this disaster in ways you cannot fathom.

The author of this blog is correct to point out Presidential motives of a decision that a huge majority of Americans strongly disagree with.

-- Posted by Leo.Pold on Fri, Nov 20, 2009, at 12:36 PM

is having the trial around election time kinda like elevating the terror threat level the old administration did to get poll numbers up?

-- Posted by president obama on Fri, Nov 20, 2009, at 1:08 PM

Leo,

The motives of this administration are those of the previous administration. "Bring those terrorists to justice", as spoken by President George W. Bush. Justice will be served, and not a single death sentence will be handed out, because that is what the terrorists want. They want to be martyrs. If the administration uncovers evidence that people (enemy combatants or not) were abused, heads may roll. They may not. If everything was legitimate, what's to worry about?

I am, despite what you say about my youth and ignorance, quite used to the normal "threat" that exists in the world. I live in Cairo Egypt. It is one of the most populous Muslim cities in the Middle East. I am the minority. I am the outsider. I am not a Coptic Christian. I am not a Sunni Muslim. I live and work in a population that both loves me and hates me.

This is a global matter. This is of huge circumstance! Yesterday, here in Maadi (a suburb of Cairo where I live), I saw a sign with an American flag that said "100% American Wheat". It might as well have been on a grain bin in McCook. Here we are folks! Let's pick it up! With great power comes great responsibility. Our forefathers weren't scared of it, we shouldn't be either! If not us, then who? The Chinese?

If it was easy, they'd call it recess...

A couple of basic points:

Federal Civil Courts have tried 192 Terrorism suspects to date -- With more than 98% convicted and sentenced to life, life-plus and extremely long term prison terms.

The Military Tribunals have tried THREE.

The reason we do this is the same reason we tried the entire Manson Family, Timothy McVeigh, various serial killers, rapists and other swine.

In the vast majority of nations, the accused would have been summarily shot by now.

Following our system of laws, government by law, and trial by jury -- WE PROVE this system works.

The vast majority of Muslims worldwide, do not support the tiny percentage of terrorists.

It is that peaceful population we conduct legal trials for.

At the end of WWII, we could count the number of democratic nations on the finger of one hand.

Today, the number exceeds 50.

We are winning the battle for hearts and minds of all people worldwide.

There is no way to bomb the Taliban into submission now, unless we are prepared to wipe out all the Tribal Regions of Pakistan and the northeast regions of Afghanistan with tactical nuclear weapons.

Do that and we instigate Jihad beyond belief.

Okay Jeff, I am going to take you at face value. I think you are missing some key points about leftists.

The left in this country lives, thrives and survives by passing out guilt. If you'll carefully read the comments of some of these "progressives", you will quickly discover that the left in America has an actual disdain for America, and especially for individual Americans, the average Jane/Joe.

We average folks are so dangerous to the globe, according to these extremists liberals, that we need to be controlled...in every aspect of our lives.

They view humans, other than themselves of course, as harmful to the planet. Naturally this extreme point of view flies in the face of the lefts' infatuation with Darwinism.

Now hear me, young Jeff, world traveler and great thinker. If Darwin is right, and the law IS survival of the fittest, and the planet evolves through time (billions and billions of years - whatever), and produces whatever it needs, then: The planet will certainly have an answer, via evolution, to humans.

Leopold made a great point about the money these trials will costs. You act like we should watse the money because we need to show something to the world. This is leftist thinking. The left preaches that we Americans must constantly show the world that we are good. BULLCRAP! I am so sick of this malarkey.

We should lead the world, And we did at one time before the nutty leftists took power. We need to lead the world again.

The left disagrees, they think every petty thug on the Planet has a right to lead, other than us. That is a retarded point of view. It is extreme. You may want to face facts, liberals may have some pathological agents working here. Don't get caught up in their stated intentions, because the lefts real intentions are to control you, and keep you as poor as possible.

I stand by the points I made in this blog. I welcome your comments, and I think you for taking time to read.

-- Posted by sameldridge on Fri, Nov 20, 2009, at 5:09 PM

Looks like this one just went to the dogs. Thanks for the discussion Sam.

-- Posted by jeffhager on Sat, Nov 21, 2009, at 1:07 AM

Sean & Jeff & Leopold, glad to have you reading. I did not have much to add, other than to say that I agree with Sean that there is something definitely wrong with Guillermo. I think the guy has been radically programed all his life with hate. He just can't help but - what was that word that LeoPold used - Ah yes, "Disgorge his liberal dogma". Guillermo does allot of disgorging. Guillermo hates Christians, and America, but claims to have gobs of conservative friends. Like most liberals, Guillermo has fantastic patience when it comes to Islamic Jihad killers, but no patience with average Americans. For those of you who have abortions, Guillermo has determined that it is not murder, so just tell God to talk with Guillermo about it. In the wild weird world of Guillermo, America is cowardly, yet Spain is brave. Guillermo has been so hateful, and has been so goofy, that Sam refuses to talk with him. Oh, by the way, Guillermo usually mocks those who say they will pray for him.

-- Posted by RMontana on Sat, Nov 21, 2009, at 1:54 AM

Montana, when you are mocked for praying for a person who really needs it, is that a good sign?

Were you reading this blog some months ago when Sam had his "Adopt A Liberal" program? It was funny, yet poignant. Sam felt the we should each pick a liberal, and start praying for them, and not quit.

I am having to recall as many of these blogs were tossed into the censorship pit, but I think it was Inglaterra who mocked Sam by saying something to him like, "I hope I am the guy you pray for." For once, Mr. Inglaterra, I agree with you.

-- Posted by Leo.Pold on Sat, Nov 21, 2009, at 10:23 AM

Keep up the good work, Sam!!

Fredd - Your comments that "The Republicans just lost again," is inaccurate. America just lost, big time. Your hatred of Republicans, (most likely due to years of educational abuse) clouds your thinking. All you care about is defeating Republicans. I am not a Republican, nor did I support or vote for the Republican candidate for President. Maybe you need to expand your hate to include conservatives.

I can tell you are fairly young. This Administrations' crimes against America are huge, but you Fredd, are going to be paying dearly for your hate for many years to come. I wonder if your hatred for Republicans will be enough motivation for you to endure the hard years that lie ahead.

Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it.

And Fredd, since you write, "God Bless America", I'd like to ask you, why should He? Are there not Republicans in America? If God were to do as you requested, Bless America, then would not the Republicans which you hate so much, get Blessed as well? Are you sure you want that?

-- Posted by sameldridge on Sun, Nov 22, 2009, at 8:11 AM

I am thankful Sam that you continue to write, and to speak the truth in love. When you consider the level of animosity in these people that disagree with you, I am so glad you don't let it get you down.

Fred, If you are older than Sam, you certainly don't act like it. I wish I could say that I would be interested in your wisdom. I have read your comments, and I am beginning to see a pattern with older liberal men. You and Hank, both seem exceptionally angry, for men who have wisdom. You seem to have a lifetime of anger built up. It is not good for you. Sam, and those like Sam, speak for future generations, and all I hear you speak of is revenge.

Keep up the good work Sam.
