I don't see any white folks being represented here, do you? I thought we were told by the Obama propaganda media that the election of a Black/White man would end racial disharmony.

Doesn't look like that was the case.

The truth is, the Democrat Party needs racial tension, it is their benchmark. The Democrat Party thrives on keeping folks separated and hating each other, it is in their blood.

The malignancy that is now the US Government, will use this next census to further consolidate their power, separate us into groups, and eat away at our freedoms and liberties.

I reiterate, the new leftists, the religious left, the hateful left, is more dangerous to America than Communism, more dangerous to America than terrorism, and greedier than the most evil business tycoon.

Yet you Obama devotees love this guy like he was your poppa. It is really kind of sick.

You have eyes, but you will not see. What has blinded you? Hate? Envy? Stupidity? Ignorance? Apathy?

Probably all of the above.

You guys are really something. You pick and choose what you want to write and make it seem like the Democrats and Obama is against the whites. As stated in the first line of this article .."who will "assist" in the collection .."

If you go on the Census 2010 website http://www.census.gov you will see that ALL US CITIZENS ARE ELIGIBLE - The Census Bureau does not discriminate in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, age, membership in an employee organization, or other nonmerit factor.

This obviously is something new to the Republicans. They don't want to have any "assist" in the betterment of their countries' future and reconciliation with other races. They want it all WHITE and everyone else can go back home where they belong.

WHAT THE TERM "ASSIST". It's one country, we're all here whether you like it or not. Let's WORK TOGETHER!

People as individuals have to start taking more responsibility for themselves Steffanie. You can't blame everything on everyone else.

-- Posted by Rural Citizen on Wed, Jul 1, 2009, at 8:20 AM

It's kind of funny that it was OK for Bush to spend, spend, spend on the war, banks, investment companies and yet when Obama is TRYING to help in a different fashion, it's wrong. What's wrong with trying something different. California was in trouble a long time before Obama got in office.

-- Posted by Rural Citizen on Wed, Jul 1, 2009, at 9:09 AM

What do you think Obama represents? Please, the name calling obviously shows your intellect and maturity. This conversation is way above you and until you understand who represents who and what your responsibilities are as a citizen, this isn't worth it. It's like talking to a turnip...

I guess what I'm saying is be careful not to generalize. It can get you into a lot of trouble.

Sam,

I'm not sure where you got YOUR list, because you didn't cite any source. But I got the above listings from the census bureau's website.

You may have gotten yours from:

http://www.bitsofws.com/index.php/2009/0...

(I've seen that list in a few places, but that seems to be the original site.)

Yes, all of those groups ARE helping with the 2010 census. But you've just cherry-picked the ones who represent minorities out of the multitude of orgnaizations/companies that are assisting with the census.

Although, there does seem to be alot of minority organizations helping with the census. Why do you think that is? Could that be because an estimated 8 million minority voters went uncounted in the 1990 census? Or because 4 million white voters were counted twice?

Too bad I'm not a lefty then I'd really have something to talk about. I just want what is sensible, economical and reasonable for me and my family. I take care of my own. Thank you jhat for finding that. It just goes to show that the "rights" like to pick and choose what they want to talk about and skew the truth.

-- Posted by Rural Citizen on Wed, Jul 1, 2009, at 10:51 AM

Rural Citizen,

Thanks for the appreciation. Although, the "lefts" sometimes pick and choose too. I just hope that when they do, someone from the right (or the left) points it out in a constructive and reasonable manner. Instead of using it as an excuse to categorically attack the other side with insults and slander.

-- Posted by jhat on Wed, Jul 1, 2009, at 11:32 AM

Correct jhat. The whole picture is never shown and if it is, SOME people like to choose what they repeat. Oh well. They'll never learn.

-- Posted by Rural Citizen on Wed, Jul 1, 2009, at 11:38 AM

Belle,

"At least their votes were counted several times this year so can we just call it even."

Now you're just sounding like the liberals who refused to believe Bush won.. both times.

-- Posted by McCook1 on Wed, Jul 1, 2009, at 11:48 AM

Hey for all I care Mr. Eldridge and steffanie, if you are so afraid of the census takers, then don't take the census, you're only going to be hurting your own cause.

Mr. Eldridge, thanks for taking the bait so well. I posted my comment about the census specifically thinking that you would try to twist information to support your conspiracy theories and paranoia into a full rage.

You talk about the paranoia on the left? Let's see in the last six months these are just some of the theories passed along from our friends on the right: Obama's not a real citizen, Obama's a muslim, the press is in bed with Obama, we have become a communist/socialist nation (the fact that some of the posters willingly interchange the two proves they don't know what the difference is), the gays are taken over, anyone who wants an abortion can get an abortion, education is an indoctrination system (though since their theories are constantly changing on just exactly who to blame who knows about this one anymore), the government is going to hand the country over to the illegals, taxation without representation (though they should probably really talk to their own senator or representative) ... and now the Census is going to consolidate Democratic power? WOW!

To top that off, Mr. Eldridge, who is always quick to point out the hate of others ends his own column by calling any Democrat just about every name in the book. Very nice job, Mr. Eldridge you have fully emersed yourself in the ooze and slime of those you preach against.

Mr. Eldridge likes to say he only does this to get the "truth" (as he sees it) out and annoy liberals. Well sorry there "bro" but I'm not annoyed and I don't think any other liberals are annoyed by the "truth" that you put out. It's fairly clear that you have given into your paranoia and you see issues where there are no issues.

You have ACORN at the top of your list, whether it's because you put it in alphabetical order or because you hate the group based on the lies put out by the conservative blogs and Fox News. A little fact checking on this last election will show you that in every case where someone brought a charge against ACORN those charges were dropped for no evidence. You were so worried about this last election being run fairly. Yet you don't ever mention a group in California, Young Political Majors, whose owner, Mark Jacoby, pleaded guilty to voter registration fraud. Not only did he not use his current address when registering (much like Ann Coulter), his group is being investigated for illegally signing people up to the Republican Party. How did they do this? They told people that they were signing a petition. Why not mention that?

-- Posted by MichaelHendricks on Wed, Jul 1, 2009, at 11:51 AM

Oh and how could I forget the paranoia that Obama is taken the guns away, even after he signed legislation allowing concealed weapons inside state parks (why someone would be so paranoid that they would have to take a concealed weapon into a state park I'll never understand). To date, not a single bill has even made it to committee to take away gun rights. The only one that I have even heard of that caused a tidal wave on the conservative blogosphere, as they said it was proof that Obama was trying to take guns away, never even got a sponsor. But that doesn't stop the paranoids from pointing to it as proof.

-- Posted by MichaelHendricks on Wed, Jul 1, 2009, at 12:29 PM

The funny thing about the picture that Mr. Eldridge is that it was a protest held because there were wide-spread accusations about white people voting twice.

-- Posted by MichaelHendricks on Wed, Jul 1, 2009, at 1:31 PM

Clearly this must mean that there will not be a single caucasion counted in the upcoming census.

Oh and you left quite a few out.

And not to split hairs here, but the term hispanic could actually refer to a white person. It's just not the common way it is used in the U.S.

Spaniards are hispanic, spaniards are caucasion.

Thus white people could easily be encompassed in those groups.

SAM,

PUH-LEEZE -- Use your talent and natural ability to write of the life and the world you know.

I worked 60-80 hour weeks at extremely low pay to obtain one helluva lot more formal education than you'll ever see and in the 52 years since have averaged more hours than even long haul truckers put in.

[This morning at 6:30 I drove two hours to meet with a gearjamming friend and help him with details for managing a stroke-impaired wife. Mack left Milwaukee at 8:30 a.m. yesterday, driving solo and arrived to drop his load in Durham, NC at 6:30 today -- More than 1,000 miles through Chicago, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina in 22 hours.]

This ain't to toot my horn, simply so you will know I don't hate truckers, know and respect hard physical labor, long hours and RESULTS from personal effort and creativity.

You can educate a lot of folks about your world.

Just keep your political views to yourself.

OR YOU MIGHT take Will Rogers as an object lesson -- Ol' Will could sum up complex politics and government in less than 50 words or less --

Fer example --

"The United States is the first country to go to the Pore House in a Model T Ford."

"The people of Oklahoma will vote DRY just so long as they can stagger to the polls."

"We ought to keep the Panama Canal, after all we stole it fair and square."

"If you come to (the High Plains country) and you don't like the weather -- just stick around five minutes until it changes to something you do like."

"When the Okies, Arkies, Texans and their friends moved to California, it raised the IQ averages in both parts of the country."

"A lot of folks who ain't sayin' ain't, ain't eatin'."

Sam, with all your rantin', did you notice today -- Our combat troops are out of Iraq's cities and the Iraqis are responsible for their own protection now. Five months after Bush left office, Seven years after this ill-gotten war started and the Taliban were left to rebuild and grow opium in Afghanistan and now Pakistan.

(Have you noticed, the largest opium producing region in Afghanistan now is an area the Taliban could never control before. That's an area where the U.S. with the Point Four aid program built big and effective irrigation systems back in the 50s and 60s, under Truman and Eisenhower.

Those people still consider that era, the good old days, but the Taliban are there now with their guns and the irrigated fields are growing opium poppies -- while the U.S. was busy ignoring Afghanistan, Al Qaeda and the Taliban.

Obama's listening to the military leadership to dispatch the UAV -- Unmanned Aerial Vehicles -- to effectively wipe out the hired mercenaries in small Iraqi villages and the cities is working quite well -- and is working well in Afghanistan and Pakistan. This instead of Rumsfeld of that well known Political Brain Trust known as DubYah and the Draft Dodgers -- ignoring the professionals and trying to conduct war on the cheap -- except for the cost in lives.)

Please Sam, write of the world and the people YOU KNOW.

Hank, I'm really sick of libs like you always referring to people who were members of the Reserves or National Guard as "draft dodgers". George W. Bush was an officer and fighter pilot in the Air National Guard. People in those organizations are ready, willing, and able to be activated at a moments notice. It sounds like anyone who wasn't drafted into the military did not serve our country honorably. It so happens that I was a member of the US Air Force Reserves during the Viet-Nam War. I received an Honorable Discharge at the end of my 6 year enlistment. My younger brother retired 2 years ago from 33 years of service in the Air Force Reserves. Reservists and Guardsmen were activated during that war, as they are being activated now to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan. They fought and died with honor. If you want an example of a draft dodger, look no further than Willian Jefferson Clinton!!

-- Posted by marcus elvis erogenous on Wed, Jul 1, 2009, at 6:38 PM

GI, Your defense of Hank is weak at best. What he implied, and what scores of other libs have said in the past, and some in the present, is that W was a draft dodger. Joining the Reserves or National Guard is NOT dodging the draft!!

-- Posted by marcus elvis erogenous on Wed, Jul 1, 2009, at 8:47 PM

Why don't you libs with "Bush Derangement Syndrome" give it a rest??
