I have written many times that America is in grave danger from the left, what I call the religious left, and I am correct in calling them that. Let me quote Newsweek's' Evan Thomas, in a discussion with the leftist religious zealot, Chris Matthews. "I mean in a way Obama's standing above the country, above - above the world, he's sort of God." The left has created god in their image, Obama. Follow that up with England's' Gordon Brown calling Omaha Beach, "Obama Beach", and you can clearly see what is happening. What a huge slap in the face to the brave men who died honorably on that beach. Excuse me while I barf! Not too many days ago, ABC's Brian Williams, while adoringly following his lord Obama around the White House, bowed before his god. In my blog, "On Your Mark, Get Set, Lie!" I outlined exactly what the Obama run media in America would do to prop up Obama. I outlined how they would lie for him, manipulate facts for him, and do their best to see to it that the truth would never get to the public. I was chastised by pretend conservatives for being to "harsh" and name calling. But, as usual, I was 100% right. The media is part of the religious leftist conspiracy to kill America. When the old Soviet Union fell, the Democrat Party in the USA became the new target for the world misfits, liars, and God-haters, and with the willing sheep in the Democrat Party, it was an easy takeover. _ When I pointed out the statements of Supreme Court nominee, Sonia Sotomayor, one of the religious lefts' water heads, quickly commented that I was a liar, and took her out of context. I was right about Ms. Sotomayor. She has repeatedly made racist, and even sexist comments, so I completely understand why Obama would select her. The people telling lies are those on the religious left. _ Israel Alone - President Obama's speech in Cairo may have been the most appalling speech ever given by a President of the United States. It was an abomination. The moral equivalency ploy, which the religious left, and Obama, use like a gun, was on full display. Obama is stunningly arrogant and naive. I really wonder about Jewish voters in the USA. They vote for Democrats, when Democrats would easily and quickly toss Israel down the stairs, just like Obama tossed his own granny down the stairs, calling her a "typical white person." Israel had better keep on it's toes. Obama, and the religious left, will stand by, and do nothing if she is attacked. They are on their own, and I reckon they know it. The butt-kissing Obama did in Cairo was stupid. Maybe we should call Obama, Dr. Chapstick. First he tells the Muslims that America is not a Christian nation, then lies to tell Muslims that America is one of the worlds largest Muslim countries. He tells Iran that THEY can have nuclear power, but for us at home, do we get nuclear power? Hell no! During the election, the slavish Obama media told us that if we brought up Obama's real ties to the Muslim world, they'd call us racists. So, Obama lies and tells people he is a Christian, and the sheep believe. I doubt that Obama would recognize a Christian, much less be one. The Obama run media, knew it was a lie, but they passed it along to the voters in order to siphon off votes, especially from Catholics. So now, Obama brags up his Muslim background. We conservatives, we true conservatives, can take heart in the fact that more and more people in America, are coming out of the Obama fog, and beginning to see the light. I know it is painful right now, but we must continue to tell the truth. Sure, the religious left will attack us, but we must continue to share the truth, and let the chips fall where they fall. Let us do our best. Don't our children and grandchildren deserve some consideration? Obama and the religious left are stealing the future from our kids. They are thieves, and we need to stand against them. Do we just stand by and watch these radicals tear apart America?

Mickel, I like that you say you aren't going to argue with me and then you argue with me. Then go the extra step and make up what I've said. I never once said you couldn't oppose Judge Sotomayor.
GI - I doth protest too much? Funny. I really didn't think I'd put my nose to the grindstone very hard in that department.
I'm interested to know what you would consider some of Obama's irreversible mistakes. Truly, I don't get on the Gazette blog very often and may have missed your willing concession at some point in the past.
It just seems to me that most topics covered in the past (of which I read and was able to engage dialogue) left you in the court of the kook fringe liberals. The kool-aid remark and the remark following were directed towards my impression of your ideology. However, I'm willing to holster the stereotypes in future discourse with you and refrain from blanket judgement; considering you would be willing to likewise.
I'm not going to argue with you, Michael, about what Sotomayor said...the context and the wording are clear and even the President agrees that given the chance she would surely tone down her statements. I don't really believe that she'll be effectively blocked from becoming a judge on the SCOTUS. I guess, what I'm really not too thrilled about...is that she blatantly talks about making policy from the bench - which is completely outside of the realm of her job as a judge; she has been reversed in the appellate courts upwards of 80% of the time, indicating faulty ejudication in the first place; and then she makes these statements about race which is completely uncalled for.
I'm an American, and a voter, and it's completely within my right to protest her nomination. Sorry if you have a problem with that.
I honestly don't get what was so bad about the speech. Maybe that is your point. But if someone were to make a mistake, are you not supposed to apologize? That's what we teach our children to do. And what's wrong w/ trying to make peace. I find it ironic that in all christian churches throughout the world they pray for peace, yet once obama tries to extend an olive branch he is criticized for being weak.
No matter what obama does you will not be happy.
And on Israel and Palestine, who decided Israel was in the right? In my opinion we do not have the right to say who is right and who is wrong. They both have legit claims, yet they are both going about fixing the situation the wrong way.

I truly believe that if Obama came out tomorrow and declared that sun rises in the east you would say it rises in the west. Not only that you would declare all those who agree that the sun rises in the east or publicly disagreed with you, you all would call them every name in the book. Sam would call them emotionals or of the liberal religion and ridicule them for being so wrong on which direction the sun rises from and declare that because Obama or Osama or the Kenyan or whatever derogative name you can come up was bringing around the end of the world because he was apologizing to the rest of the world that there were some of us convinces that the sun comes up in the west.
That's how weird and otherworldly your blind hate has gotten for those who disagree with you.
You would claim the fact the sun does indeed rise in the west and then when someone challenged you to prove it, you would turn around and demand that they prove it doesn't, and when that person does provide the proof that the sun rises in the east you would dismiss them and continue declaring that the sun rises in the west and demand anyone but yourself to prove otherwise.

If you had actually read sam's blog and my response you would know that I was responding to sam's claims of other supposed racist and sexist remarks, not to the comment that you and sam and every other far right winger has taken so far out of context you have actually changed what she said and tried to make it fact. Judge Sotomayor said that she had hoped that as a latino woman that came from a tough background that she would be better able to make a judgement than a white male in the same position.
As for the last eight years, it's been the far right, Congress, and the White House who has been lobbing the gloom and doom around. I don't know what reality you are in if you honestly think the Republicans and Bush kept us safe.
GI - I am, and always have been an independant thinker. I check the information as well as the sources of the information I espouse in any form and very greatly take umbrage to your indications otherwise.
Not only did I hear the "soundbite" of Ms. Sotomayor, but heard the entire context of her comments. My opinion holds. I also heard her state her belief that judges are called to make policy from the bench; a very disconcerting statement I don't mind saying. Even the Big BO confirms her making the statements - so I'm terribly confused as to why you attempt to refine, define or refute at this stage. Just drink deeply of President Clown's kool-aid and relax. You know if you touch the hem of His robe, you too will be healed.

Michael...NO ONE has denied that Ms. Sotomayor has made the racially charged comments that we are all very familiar with at this point in the debate. She declared that she is more qualified to make judgments than a white male judge precisely because she is a latina female. Please don't pretend you've had your head in the sand and missed this dialogue; because even President Chapstick (your moniker there, Sam...) wanted a "do-over" for Ms. Sotomayor's statements. The fact that you are seriously attempting to challenge the veracity of Sam's reporting of the statements here just lend weight to Sam's comment of "sheep".
"Hope" is better than "Doom and Gloom"? I agree. For the past eight years we have all heard the drumbeats of doom and gloom from the left on national security, the economy, global warming, our liberties and freedoms, and a myriad of human issues. Now we are actually realizing the "doom and gloom" with a 26 year record high unemployment rate of 9.4%. A 13 trillion dollar deficit that is a combined sight more than all previous administrations COMBINED. A government owned banking industry, a government owned automobile industry, and a heavily gov't influenced housing industry - with healthcare, big oil and the media on the radar for President Clown and company. Don't try to spin it, Michael. Obama OWNS this economy and the southbound direction it is headed. Where is the "hope" in all of that? I think most people would prefer that they be given the opportunity to succeed instead of having the gov't dole out to everyone based on what the gov't believes is best. I think most people are a better expert concerning their own wants and needs than some bureaucracy.
Obamas statement, and your ringing agreement; that we are one of the largest Muslim nations on the planet is just plain wrong. Our Muslim population is about 2.3 million (according to Pew Research Center); which would put the percentage of Muslims in this country at less than 1%. Compare that with Pakistan at 150 million Muslims; India with 156 million Muslims; Turkey has over 65 million; Albania has over 3 million, with a total population just over 3 million...and on and on. I think the "He said it, so you believe it; and that settles it" bumper sticker mentality comes to mind.

By the way the only people calling Obama a god or "sort of god" or anything resembling a god are on the right. Chris Matthews is not a liberal, he's not even close. Barack Obama is our president and a human being nothing more nothing less.

That is the way that a liberal would proclaim God. You and I would say "Jesus is Lord!" A liberal would say, "Obama is sort of God."

Here's the dirty little secret you don't like to admit sam, but we are one of the largest muslim nations in the world. We are also one of the largest christian nations in the world. We are a melting pot. Denying it is just shielding your eyes.
What world are you living in, where we don't have nuclear power? Obama has stated many times that nuclear power is one of the alternative fuel sources we need to look into it. But admitting that would completely go against your "Attack Obama at any cost" theme that you have.
The Isreali-Palestinian conflict is not a Jewish thing, and for you to suggest that it is, is nothing more than a scare tactic.

You make wild allegations against groups or persons, but you never provide what your allegations are and then you demand that everyone else provide the facts against your bogus allegations. So provide what she has said.
And what party are you referring to when you say "Democrat Party". There is no such party in the United States. Now, I know, that about 15 years ago, your lord, Newt tried to change the name of the Democratic Party to the Democrat Party, but here's the weird thing, we, in the Democratic Party have minds of our own and don't bow down to anyone like, well, apparently you do by actually calling the party Democrat Party. Talk about being sheepish Sam.
You keep talking about this fog that United States is in. Maybe it's just you Sam.
